Here are the Top 10 Disney Tips For Saving Money:
1. Disney offers special discounts throughout the year. There is always some kind of special out. Be sure to check the special offers page frequently.
2. Are you a member of the military? Disney offers exclusive discounts for military and their family.
3. Are you a Florida resident? You also get exclusive discounts! (Lucky!!) You can find all the current discounts here.
4. If you purchase an annual pass to Disney, you will be eligible for exclusive rates on your hotel.
5. If the Halloween or Christmas party are occurring during your visit, it could be cheaper to purchase just a party ticket and spend the morning at the resort. These tickets tend to be about $15 less than a one day admission. The party ticket will get you into the Magic Kingdom starting at 4 pm.
6. Sometimes it’s cheaper to buy your room and tickets separate. They almost always have a discount through Disney for room only.
7. Check with your employer and see if they offer any kind of discount on your Disney trip. My husband’s does, but it isn’t more than what I can get elsewhere.
8. Be lucky enough to receive one of the exclusive PIN codes from Disney. These are for special rates / offers that aren’t available to the general public. You can read about how to improve your chances of getting a PIN Code.
9. Sign up for the Chase Disney Rewards Visa. Not only do you get 1-2% back in rewards (in the form of a Disney gift card), but you’re also eligible for exclusive discounts. Some of these are the same ones that are offered to the general public, but sometimes Disney Visa Rewards members get them first.
10. Start working with an authorized Disney travel agent (like my friends at Destinations in Florida). When a Disney special comes out that is valid during your dates, they will let you know and make appropriate changes to your trip to save you even more money!

I just want to do one day at Disney. What is my best purchase option?
The first time we went through Disney we planned our trip through a cruise line….not a good experience at all. Our second family trip was going to be perfect lol. We had a different planner and we loved her she stayed on top of everything the trip was paid for almost 7 months in advance to give us time to save up for anything extra we wanted to do. Dining reservations were made by her everything was PERFECT and then we got the news we were expecting baby #2…I was super excited to have a new addition, but so bummed to cancel our Disney trip. Our newest family member is now 4 months old and we plan on heading to Disney in September of 2013! I CANNOT WAIT!! I get so excited thinking about it :) Our boys will have a blast and of course so will we!! I used Disney Passporter and loved all of the information they gave. We followed their iteniary when we went in June and accomplished all the rides in every park in 5 days (with a 6 month old) Rider Swap is the best!!
Those military discounts have saved us a bundle! Thanks for posting!
This is great! I just signed up for mousesavers.com! Thank you so much for the tips. I am so excited to share this magical experience with my little Princess in July.
Thanks for the tips. We are a little ways out form making our trip, but these will come in hand when we do start planning.
Just so you know, you only need to buy one ticket per person to get the dining plan. I had to ask because one of the days we were not going to the park but I wanted to make sure we still got dining and they told me you only need to buy at least one ticket per person.
You can park for free at so many places around Disney World so you don’t have to pay for parking. Then you can use the bus system. I learned this living and working there.
Courtney – A lot of the deals are now requiring you to purchase multiple day tickets to get the dining plan (at least for free dining).
i live in Florida…we have passes for all 8 of us….we do the Florida Flex pay passes…it covers parking (normally $14), we ger discounts all over the parks, no black out dates and we pay a low monthly rate every month.
