The weather is cold and rainy today and I found myself thinking about the wonderful pools at the Universal Orlando resort hotels. All of the on-site resort pools have their own personality and vibe. There truly is something for everyone! A couple of my favorites are the lazy river at Cabana Bay for family time, Loews Royal Pacific pool area has an amazing vibe where you feel like you could hang out all day, and the hillside pool at Loews Portofino resort is perfect for relaxing. I also wanted to share a little known secret. If you are a guest at any of the on-site Universal Orlando Resort hotels you may use the pools at any of the on-site properties anytime. On your next visit try them all and see which pool personality suits you and your family best?
At Universal Orlando’s Loews Portofino Bay Hotel the vibe of sunny days on the Italian Riviera is felt all around. This resort features three swimming pools. The largest, the Beach Pool, has a sand beach, a Roman aqueduct-themed water slide, plus a children’s pool. The classic and elegant Villa Pool is the perfect place to soak up the sun and socialize. Across the picturesque Portofino Bay, guests will find the hillside Pool – the destination for secluded sunbathing or a romantic swim.
One of the most popular hotel pools at Universal Orlando is the Hard Rock Hotel pool. It is the place to see and be seen – the ultimate pool party location! The Hard Rock Hotel pool has an underwater sound system so you can hear music while swimming, there is also a sand beach and a 260-foot pool slide. Play beach volleyball, splash in the interactive fountains, or rent a themed cabana decorated in tribute to albums such as The Beatles’ “Yellow Submarine.”
Over at the Loews Royal Pacific Resort enjoy lush tropical gardens at the lagoon-style pool. You will sit beneath swaying palm trees and find a sandy beach with private cabanas some even complete with their own whirlpools. The kids will have a fabulous time splashing at the Royal Bali Sea interactive water play area.
Cabana Bay Beach Resort, Universal Orlando’s newest on-site hotel has two amazing pool courtyards. Lazy River Courtyard and Cabana Courtyard both feature gigantic zero entry swimming pools with sand beach areas plus a water slide and interactive kids play areas. Lazy River Courtyard is Universal Orlando’s only lazy river. The pool deck areas feature special activities for guest including poolside movies.
