First I want to start by thanking all of you for being so understanding of my need to take time off from the blog. I know you can choose to get your deals elsewhere, so it means a lot to me that you continue to choose CouponingtoDisney.
Today I am beginning to work full time on the blog again. I am so grateful that my friend was able to help for a little longer than expected. I am excited to be working again and I have a lot of big plans that I hope to implement over the next few months.
My postpartum recovery with Molly Kate has been very difficult. In addition to the normal things you deal with after giving birth, I also dealt with clogged ducts that turned into Mastitis and a cough/cold that just wouldn’t go away. I was finally able to get on the right antibiotics and I feel so much better! It’s wonderful to feel like myself again.
Molly Kate is a great baby. She is very happy and easy going, most of the time. The antibiotics that I had to take upset her stomach and I spent 3 days in a rocking recliner because I could not put her down for more than 2 minutes at a time. Once the antibiotics left her system, she was back to being easy going.
She also has a slight case of hip dysplasia. She has to wear the Pavlik Harness until August 7th. She has spells where she gets really aggravated that she can’t curl herself up into a ball, but for the most part it doesn’t seem to bother her.
She is still waking about every 2 hours at night to eat. She is currently going thru her 6th week growth spurt where she literally wants to eat around the clock for a few days, so I am hoping as soon as the growth spurt ends that she starts sleeping longer stretches at night.
My older 2 kids are adjusting well to the new baby. They are so excited to have a little sister and want to help and tend to her as much as they are able to. We also made the decision to take them both out of public school and homeschool them this year. We are using K12’s independent program and have already started working on lessons to make the adjustment to full time homeschooling. I am very excited about what the future holds for them!
I hope you have had a great summer so far! We are enjoying the bright sunny days, but not the high temps with high levels of humidity. Alabama has some crazy hot summers! Thank goodness for pools.
Hi Kristin!
I just wanted to say that you have been such an encouragement to me over the past few years that i’ve followed your blog. I LOVE IT! We have so much in common, it’s unreal! I am also a Disney addict, love to coupon, have 3 kiddos (oldest daughter, middle son, and new baby girl), AND I will be embarking on my first year of homeschooling soon! Please let me know if I can ever be of any help to you! :) Congratulations on your beautiful family and new journey together!
Congratulations on your sweet daughter and I’m glad you are feeling better. Postpartum complications are never fun.
I hope your family loves homeschooling. We have been doing it for about 6 years now and it was the best decision we ever made. We are into high school at this point and never looked back.
Kristin;
Many Congratulations on your newest addition to your Beautiful Family.
I hope and pray that you all are doing well.
I for one love your Disney emails and wouldn’t do without them!!
Take Care.
Welcome back! Congratulations on deciding to homeschooling. My kids are enrolled through Connections Academy its called Florida Virtual School Full Time here.We love it and are very happy we made this decision. Congrats on your little one… she’s so cute.
Welcome back! You and your family will get through this and you can all look back on it later and say “Whew! We made it!” Love the silly baby faces!
Glad things are getting better. You have a beautiful family! Thanks for all the helpful information you put out there for us. And please keep us updated on the homeschooling. I have an 8 year old and a 10 year old and they go to a city owned school – we also live in Alabama and our county public schools are not an option. So far we have been fairly happy but I have considered homeschooling. I hope all goes well for you and your family!
Your family is beautiful. Congrats on the addition. May I ask why you are looking to homeschool? I was thinking of doing the same for my son who will be going into 2nd grade. I am still unsure of what program is best for him to use.
Glad you, little one, and the rest of the family of doing well. Welcome back!
I would love to hear more about your experience homeschooling with K12. I have really been wanting to homeschool my kids, but I don’t know where to start.
Congratulations! She’s precious.
Welcome back! You’ve been missed!
Glad things are all on the mend. I had mastitis with my first and the worst case of strep I’ve ever experienced when my second was a newborn, so I can kind of relate to some of what you had to endure.
I wish you success with homeschooling! I know I sure couldn’t do it well and pray I don’t ever have to! May you be one of the many people who are great at it and enjoy doing it. Home-schooled kids seem to do quite well, and that’s likely the most important thing anyway! (We used to live in Alabama, so I know there may be issues there driving you to it.) An extra benefit is you don’t have to worry about pulling the kids out of school to take advantage of the less crowded non-vacation times to visit Disney!!!! c:
Welcome back! Glad you are feeling like yourself again and your family is settling in. Congratulations again!
She looks so happy! Glad you are getting over all the hurdles! wow, homeschooling is a big commitment! I have seen amazing changes in kids who have been homeschooled for even short amounts of time! Let us know how you like k12, I have been curious, and stand willing to homeschool f it seems best for my kids too!
