Walt Disney World announced that it will be closed Monday, March 16th, through Tuesday, March 31st, 2020. This is in an effort to help contain the outbreak of COVID-19 (Coronavirus). They have released updated information on how this will affect everyone.
Tickets
If you have a multi-day use ticket that still has unused days on it and it hasn’t expired (see details on when tickets expire here), Disney will extend those tickets automatically through December 15th, 2020. You do not have to call about your tickets.
If you are not able to visit before December 15th, 2020, you can apply the value of the unused days to a purchase of a new ticket.
Florida Resident Discover Disney Tickets have been extended through July 31, 2020.
You do not have to call Disney about your tickets.
Special Event Tickets
If you had purchased special event tickets, such as Disney After Hours, Villains After Hours or Early Morning Magic that were occurring between March 16th and March 31, 2020, you will receive an automatic refund to the original source of payment.
If you paid with a Disney Gift Card, it will go back on the Gift Cards you used.
You do not have to call Disney about your special event tickets.
Pre-Paid Dining/Experiences
If you have pre-paid for a meal at Cinderella’s Royal Table or a build at the Droid Depot or any other experience that required a payment ahead of time during March 16th – March 31st, Disney will automatically be refunding these to the original form of payment.
You do not have to call Disney about your pre-paid dining/experiences.
No-Show Fees
Disney will not be charging any no-show fees for dining reservations that you were unable to attend during March 16th – March 31st, 2020.
You do not need to log into the system to cancel these reservations.
Resorts
Guests who have not arrived at Walt Disney World Resorts can modify or cancel their room reservation or package. You have until your check-in day to make these changes. Disney is waiving all change and cancellation fees through check-ins on June 30th.
If you do not take any action and you do not show up for your check-in, Disney will automatically refund you to the original form of payment(s).
If you paid with a Disney Gift Card, it will go back on the Gift Cards you used.
To modify your reservation, you do need to contact Disney directly.
If you used a C2D Dream Team Agent, they are already doing this for you!
Annual Pass
If you have an Annual Pass, your pass will automatically receive an extension by the number of days the park is closed. I do not know yet how that will affect blackout dates.
Hopefully this helped to answer your most pressing questions over this unprecedented closure. Be sure to check their website directly as well as stay tuned to Couponing to Disney & SavEars as I share the news with you.
What about memory maker? Can we get a refund? Or extend our purchase?
Is there any way we could keep our fast passes?
I need to follow this thread. So many hours put into securing a viable Fast Pass park plan!
What about single day tickets?
