First of all I will say that Be Our Guest is possible on every budget. Yes, you can go! The entire family can experience this absolutely gorgeous castle and all the ambience it offers on a budget.
The budget saver was a last minute reservation we snagged literally while eating nachos in the Magic Kingdom. We took the 11 PM reservation and thought “well, wish we had know that we could get BOG”, but it all works out in the end. We arrived at the check-in area 15 minutes prior to check in and were directed to the courtyard where we waited to have our names called. We literally left the Magic Kingdom and were transported to the Beast Castle with a simple walk across a bridge!
The imagineers have done an amazing job. The courtyard is quiet and it feels like a busy park is far, far way. Our family was called and we were given a tour of the Master’s castle, complete with the dreaded West Wing! It is simply amazing! On this trip we were seated in the West Wing and absolutely loved it! It is straight out of the movie. We loved this area, however it was very dark- my husband and I found it romantic, but some people may not enjoy it.
We decided to just do desserts. The desserts here are about $5 a piece and that was a deal! That night they had seven desserts and we tried each one (strictly for educational purposes of course). My favorite, the Lemon Meringue Cupcake, was amazing and the triple chocolate cupcake grabbed top place with our ten year old. “It’s pure chocolate heaven,” was her review. My husband’s favorite dessert was the strawberry cream cheese cupcake. We thought they all were good and generally the only one we left untouched was the cream puff. We were disappointed in the grey stuff, it was just not chocolatey enough for us!
So our total came to $40 with my hubby’s coffee. We used our Table of Wonderland discount. We had an amazing server, Amanda remained in character the whole time.
Our next visit to Be Our Guest was New Year’s Eve. We had landed this reservation early one morning and were eager to go try more of what the menu had to offer. It was so nice to be able to escape to the Beast’s castle this night and to get away from the craziness that is New Year’s Eve! It gave us a chance to relax and recharge before finishing our 18 hour park day.
We started our meal with the assorted cured meats, sausages and marseilles-style mussels. They got great reviews from the entire family! I love a good meat and cheese tray, and it was very different, providing an opportunity to sample new to us cheeses. The mussels received big praises, however I did not eat any so I have to let my family speak for them.
We tried every entree with the exception of the layered ratatouille and they all were amazing! The plates themselves are works of art. We also had the wine sampler and it was a great compliment to all our entrees. We each got a dessert as well and thoroughly enjoyed this experience.
We were seated in the East Wing and it is a beautifully themed room. Our server this time was a very good waitress, but she did not stay in character like our previous experience. This meal came in at well over $400 but it was worth it!! Our Tables of Wonderland was blocked out for this date, but we were able to use our Annual Pass holder discount. The experience was worth every penny!!
Be Our Guest is an amazing experience and regardless of your family size and budget, it is a great get away from a hectic day at the park. I found the theming and food better than Cinderella’s Royal Table. We can’t wait to go back. This restaurant is a work of art and you will discover something new every trip. Don’t forget to get your pics with the Beast at dinner time, as it’s the only opportunity you will get to snag this photo!
Side note: I have a seafood allergy and they were very accommodating and knowledgeable.
Be Our Guest Dinner is now 2 dining credits for those on the dining plan.
(Thanks Stephanie, for sharing your experiences at BOG!)
