If you are traveling to Walt Disney World with adults with health issues, here are some things you need to know:
First Aid – Each theme park has a First Aid where you can go for basic medical needs that is staffed by registered nurses. If you have prescriptions that need to be refrigerated or just stored out of the Florida heat, you can also stop by First Aid and ask them to store the meds for you.
Reedy Creek Fire Department – Disney’s own fire department is staffed with paramedics. They have a very quick response time and can generally get to a distressed guest in a matter of minutes.
In-Room Medical Visits – If you are in need of a medical visit, an in-room visit can be arranged by calling the front desk of your Disney Resort. Keep in mind that here will be a hefty charge for this visit.
Offsite Urgent Care – Florida Hospital Centra Care Walk-In Urgent Care Centers are open from 8:00 AM to midnight, Monday through Friday, and 8:00 AM to 8:00 PM, Saturday and Sunday. Complimentary transportation is available and many insurance plans are accepted. Call 407-934-2273.
Hospital – The closest hospital is Florida Hospital Celebration Health. If you have regular dialysis treatments or other needs, the hospital can help you arrange it.
