The announcement is a shock to no one, but it hurts all the same. Walt Disney World & Disneyland will be closed until further notice, according to the newest information from Disney. This is in line with recommendations from health experts and government officials.
Disney will extend paying hourly parks and resorts cast members through April 18th.
Disney is anticipating heavy call volume over the next few days, so if you aren’t traveling immediately, I would recommend holding off on calling about your plans. You can also contact your travel agent if necessary. Disney World is also reminding guests that many plans can be modified online via My Plans.
We will continue to keep you updated on any news!

Oh this saddens me along with many, many others I am sure. This shutdown was indeed inevitable and my 4 year old granddaughter will be devastated. I made her a “countdown calendar” that she has been faithfully keeping up with by placing various Disney stickers on the appropriate day; we have be counting down for the last 2 1/2 months :>(. Now I have to come up with a way to break this news to her ever so gently. This closing is for the best and we will all rebound soon. Let’s all just hang in there, continue to pray and get through this will the help of our Lord … Stay safe and healthy Mickey & your gang.
Idea …
Maybe generate and sell personalized letters to the youngsters explaining why Mickey made the decision to close the park for awhile.
Hope to be visiting Walt Disney World soon

I have purchased a 4 day Resident pass which I have been planning on using since our spring break 2 weeks ago. Since the coronavirus and the park being closed is this deadline going to be extended?
