How did you do today? Get any great deals?
Ka-Ching!!! Motherload girl! I am a crazed yard-sale-cruiser! Great buys! Especially that Vera Bradley!!!!!
I’m not sure how far north you have to do to not have garage sales on Fri., but I live in WI and ours usually start on Th. and occassionally even on Wed. Oh and we call them rummage sales. Is that a regional thing or something? Anyway this week I went to one that started on Wed. and was able to get my son a lot of Gymboree outfits(many still new with the tags still on). I think it was 3 pair of pants, 6 shirts, 2 sweaters, and a warm vest for $57. Considering the quality and the condition of the clothes I think I did well. Oh and they let my son have a stuffed giraffe(his fave animal) for free.
I love yard sales! I didn’t go to one today but I did hit the baby consignment shop and got my daughter Koi a NEW Bumbo for $12.71 (after taxes lol)! Then we hit Hollister in the mall for my oldest daughter Remy and got 6 shirts for $30 (they have 50% off clearance right now). I felt bad that I got the oldest and youngest girls something so I went to Gap and they were having a 40% add’l off their clearance sale so I got 4 dresses, a jacket, 3 tops, and 2 jean shorts for my middle daughter Holly and spent under $50! Gotta start that school clothes shopping early lol!
I LOVE yard sales. I regret that I won’t be able to go to any this weekend. Maybe I need to take next Friday off for this reason. Thanks for the idea! :)
The best way to buy books!!!
Wow! That’s awesome! I will have to start checking out some yard sales this year. I got my daughters changing table (it needed a shelf fixed on it but other than that great condition!) for $10. It was white but I painted it brown to match her theme…pink and brown flowers and polka dots.
Another thing I miss about living in the south – Yard Sales on Fridays! Unheard of in the north!!
Good job! I really wish I would stumble upon a Vera Bradley anything!
I love garage sales. My daughters and I can make a day of it. They can get alot of stuff for the amount of money they have- usually $10-$20. You did a great job.
Man Kristin I am so jealous! I go almost every weekend I can. What are of Bham did you go to. I need to find the best areas to yard sale!
I live in Moody and I just go around this immediate area so I don’t use a lot of gas. :)
I love garage sales. I can’t go this weekend We are moving a friend. I am going to start going next week.
I hit a local thrift store yesterday and scored 7 kids clothing items and two children’s books for just under $15! I got clothes from The Limited Too and The Children’s Place! Sweet deals! http://frugaladee.blogspot.com/2010/06/fabulous-thrift-store-finds.html
I love going to Yard Sales. However since moving to Wyoming. We rarely find anything worth the gas it took to find the places. We are a young couple and it seems the only things that people are selling are baby clothes and toys. I don’t have a baby….yet.I hope the deals on that stuff is still around when I do. Your finds were pretty awesome though.
My snobby neighborhood (and you know I am not snobby…just live here) forbids yard sales. You have to cross the freeway to find one and only on Saturday and Sunday. When we lived in NC we did yard sales all the time.
It looks like you did awesome today.
That is awesome! I wish I was motivated enough to get up and get out to yard sales. Right now, I need to have one more than I need to go to one!
Nice haul! Very good job.
I love garage sales. They had a “community garage sale” in our neighborhood a few weeks ago, and I got the following:
2 wooden and 1 plastic picture frame (all brand new) – $2.50
1 electric motor boat kit (for children), still in shrinkwrap – don’t remember exact price … I think it was $0.50
good quality Kidco metal baby gate with 5 extensions – $100
2 baby teether toys … free (there was a price tag on one of them, but the guy let me have both for free … I hope he didn’t get in trouble with his wife for that!)
1 large box full of puzzles and games – $2 (this was a “closeout” a couple of minutes before the garage sale ended; we will keep some of the games and give the rest to someone else)
1 almost-new-condition Cranium Cadoo game … $2
1 cup of lemonade from a cut little boy :-) … $0.25 :-)
I think that’s it. Not bad, I think. The only thing we’ve used so far is the baby fence. It is zigzagging across our living room …
Big oops! I meant “cute” little boy …
Great job!
All are awesome stuff
Wow, that’s a lot of stuff for little money! I usually love going to garage sales but the ones here lately have been not so great. I’ve hardly found anything, but I’m always on the lookout for the Disney’s Wonderful World Of Reading books. We love to collect those.
Great job! I love going to yard sales! Sometimes I find a bunch of great deals other times it’s a bust, but it is always a lot of fun!
