If you were celebrating Easter at Disney World (along with no less than 100,000 of your closest friends and family…), your kids might be getting that $75 Easter basket from Disney Floral and Gifts delivered to your resort room. But since most of us are not at Disney this Easter and responsible for making our kids Easter baskets, I want to know what is in yours!
What is in your kids baskets?
My 2 kids (21 son and 17 daughter) and their 3 younger cousins are getting Nerf guns from me! Along with their favorite candy they like from me. (Nerf guns were on sale for $4.99 this week at Target). I figure it’s best to keep them all out of the house while I’m cooking :)
My DD (3) expects an egg hunt since my brother started it last year! We don’t let her have a lot of candy and I hate little junkie stuff so I wasn’t sure what she sure what to put in all those little plastic eggs. Then it hit me!!! We’re going to Disney and she loves those penny machines (wants to stop at EVERY one). Each egg will have 2 quarters and a penny! It will be something useful in the eggs and I won’t be searching for coins in WDW!
my boys 5 & 3 are getting Car’s Crocs, Piggy Bank, and reusable cup, plus a chocolate bunny
my girl 2 is getting Dora the Explorer Crocs, Cabbage Patch Cutie, reusable cup plus a chocolate bunny
Money is tight and DD has a birthday friday — so I tried to go small on the baskets! I lucked out and decided to check the mall before I ordered the Crocs on Amazon and found the boys on sale for $22, Amazon’s list price was $29.99 each!
Star Wars lego spaceship sets, Leapster 2’s with games and cases, and a few things of candy! (Oh…and a “surprise gift from Grandma and Grandpa”!)
crayola stuff from target we got using coupons
free candy from walgreens
free starwars figures from walgreens
books from the dollar spot at target
some left over stocking stuffers i did not use!
My daughter will have Skittles, M&Ms, nail polish, a t-shirt with her favorite number on it, stickers, shower soap in her favorite scent. Total cost? $2 thanks to CouponingtoDisney!
I’ve been so wrapped up at work, I haven’t had a chance to get much of anything! I did stop by Aldi today and got 2 Peter Rabbit chocolate bunnies… $2.25 or $2.50 each… And then I’ll probably get some Ninjago Legos and Pokemon trading cards. It’s my oldest’s 10th b-day tomorrow, but luckily he’s good with a card and lunch at school until his party next Saturday!
My 9 year old daughter is getting in her basket ~ Jump rope, Hula hoop, candy, lip balm, bubbles, a book to take to Disney this fall and a gift card to Rita’s
My 7 year old boys are each getting in their baskets ~ Jump rope, games to play outside, football, gift cards, bubbles, candy and each a different book for Disney this fall…one is the Hidden Mickeys game book.
This year instead of everyone in the family filling baskets with candy and toys for the kids we decided to go in on 1 big basket for each child. Makes our lives a lot easier this way. I am sure they will each get an outfit before the week is over for their baskets.
Two year old Daughter is getting a Hello Kitty bowling set from Amazon [bought w/ GC’s from Swagbucks] a freezer mug with a lid and a straw from dollar tree, a book for her Tag Jr that I found at BigLots for only $4, some Hello Kitty pocky treats and an m&m egg I got with a coupon.
3 mth old is getting a toy that suctions onto the high chair, a couple board books and a rubber ducky that has bunny ears on. Minimal items but fun!
A game for her leap pad, a Hello Kitty DVD, Minnie Mouse egg, Mini Mouse jump rope, Minnie Mouse colorform type set, Princess kite, a fur real bunny (super cheap at Target thanks to your post on stackable coupons last week!!), hopping bunnies, bunny jacks, a few more things I’ve stashed from the dollar spot or the dollar tree, a few candies that were free or super cheap and a bag of big red gooey fish.
And now I’m certain that Mommy went overboard yet again! lol
Oh yes! She will also get 4 more baskets when we go to the in-laws on Sunday!
We don’t do that much. When my kids were kids (lol) we hid candy and filled eggs for them to find and put chocolate bunnies and small toys in their baskets. My grandkids get lots of candy and a few trinkets in their basket. They both had birthdays in March and were overloaded with toys, games, gift cards.
This year we went the pre-filled route. My 9yr will be getting a Phineas & Ferb themed basket, and my 3 year old is getting a Mickey Mouse themed basket! They will also each get a Veggie Tales DVD, a Crayola Lap Desk for the car, bubble wands and a chocolate bunny! My parents take care of the candy, because the Bunny comes to their house for the boys too!
This year Nathan’s basket (my 3 year old) is getting a basket filled with all Chuggington items. Zachary is only 9 months and I have no idea what I am doing yet.
Disney Autograph book and a Disney card (we are going first of June); some candy and then a little doll (Lalaloopsy for 7 year old & Tiana mini doll for 2 year old)!!!!
No chocolate for us, I found some decorated bunny cookies, that is the only sugar. Everything else is disney themed items I have picked up on clearance at various places, mostly Walgreens. We are going to take our first trip ever to disney world in September! I found some disney books, stickers, tattoos, mickey mouse bubbles, cinderella pen and journal, and some disney photo books also!
I also ordered some disney pins from ebay to put in as well.
usually we do lots and lots of candy but we’re trying to be healthier so this year they get 1 chocolate bunny and books.
My 17 month old is getting a new coloring book and the My first Crayola crayons I got last week on sale at Target, the Sesame Street school bus that holds his character figurines (I’ve been waiting for this to go on sale and found it 50% off at Target last week!), a few Disney and Sesame Street board books from the Dollar Store, a small, soft Mickey Mouse Clubhouse ball from the dollar store, a small Sesame Street bag to hold his little board books from Target’s dollar section, an Elmo bowl and plate from Target’s dollar section and some Toy Story plastic eggs to decorate it I got for 75% off after Easter last year. Kind of minimal this year but his new sister is due to be born 2 days after Easter so he has more to look forward to!!
Anything CARS related! Everything I purchased was on sale or discounted/free after coupons. I wish I would of kept a running tally to see how much I saved from the original retail price. Next year!
We decided to go minimal for Easter this year. We bought a pre-filled Cars Easter Basket and a small chocolate combo pack from our local chocolate company. We’ve been trying to cut out the sugary items from our household and downsize on toys…so we didn’t want to add a whole pile more for this Holiday. That’s what birthdays and Christmas is for!
My kids are older so the 15 year old is getting an itunes gift card to be able to purchase stuff for his iphone and my 12 year old is getting a leather case for her kindle fire. They’re also getting a small chocolate bunny and a couple other candy items. Easter baskets used to be much more fun!
I have an 8 yr old boy who’s getting swim trunks, sunglasses, a slipnslide (I got 90% off last fall, a DVD and some little candy and trinkets.
I have a 4 yr old boy who’s getting “The Lorax” book, shorts, sunglasses, a DVD, a baseball and some other little things.
I have am almost two year old girl who’s getting capris, socks, hairbows (she loves clothes!), a DVD, sunglasses and some little things…
In my kids’ baskets there’s… lots of stuff I bought on after-Christmas or after-Valentine’s Day sales–Legos, craft items, books, playmobil, silly bands and neutral-colored candies–like chocolate baseballs or golden-wrapped Christmas candy. There are even a few items from last year’s after-Easter sales! The only thing I bought from this year’s Easter aisle was a chocolate bunny for each kid.
I do this too! Most of the things I find from the year before’s summer clearance to stock my kids up on summery stuff since in Texas we have a very long summer!
my teen aged girls are getting baskets filled with all the great freebies and samples ive been hiding from them and my son is getting legos and chocolate. I’m not sure whose basket i might raid first
our 2yr old daughter is getting a new hair brush, a my little pony (clearance at walmart), some stickers, rubber stamp set, pink/purple toy boats for the bath, some peeps (her favorite treat!) and a disney princess table and chairs on clearance for $14.99 :)
Chocolate bunny, stuffed chick, some m&ms, a my little pony ( found on clearance after Easter last year. :). And maybe one of the princess duplo sets I picked up from Target a few weeks ago.
I love those Duplo Princess sets. I bought some to put away for little girls in my family for birthdays.
Both kids will get a Disney Gift card to spend on our trip in June. DD is getting some of the Lego Friends sets. DS is older and loves old tv shows and movies. He will get an Amazon GC so he can buy what he wants. AND…of course there will be candy. I’ve gotten some deals at CVS and Target on candy.
M&M’s, Skittles jelly beans, Crayola sidewalk chalk and Jelly Belly scented bubbles!
matchbox cars, a semi filled with cars, candy, bug catching kit, candy, kids binoculars, CARS paddles with balls, candy, Scooby Doo leapfrog book, cars t-shirt, CARS toothbrush holder and more candy and a few more things I can’t remember… what fun is it to be a kid at the holidays and not get candy. I figure let them live it up for the day=) We do an Easter egg hunt for all his treasures around the house and yard if it is nice out. So much fun.
I have two girls and they are getting almost the same things in theirs. They are getting VERY little candy from the “Easter bunny” because I’m sure my mom will take care of that.. ;) Plus, my oldest has already been to two egg hunts so our candy jar at home is FULL. They are getting things that I found on sale/clearance or had a coupon for… such as a swimsuit, sundress, sandals, Lily Pulitzer animal crackers (these were just too cute :)), bubbles for the smallest, a single necklace kit for the oldest, coloring books and a Cabbage Patch Cutie. I love Easter! It’s one of my favorite holidays!! :)
My son is 18 months and OBSESSED with mickey. So…anything and everything mickey that I could find will be in his basket!
The 2 1/2 year old is getting —
Dora 3D chalk set I got on clearance at Walgreen’s after Christmas ($1.94!)
4 M&M eggs I got for free with coupons
Crayons I got for free with coupons
A new coloring book to go with the crayons
Glosticks I picked up at the Dollar Store

The 8 month old is getting —
A ring stacker

& lots & lots of Gerber puffs.
Oh I forgot. The 8 month old also has a set of Alex magnetic bathtub boats that I cashed in my Pampers rewards for.
Wow! What a great deal!
We did a Muppets themed Easter basket. We got the Muppets bluray, set of finger puppets that came with the bluray, 2 Animal tshirts (on clearance at the Disney outlet store), entire collect of Muppet Babies books (found at our local Goodwill), and the last 2 Muppet plush characters from the Disney store!
I dont know who is more excited about the basket, me or him!
Lots of star wars stuff like a lego set and fighter pods a couple of card games a movie and some candy all of which I got for fairly cheap with coupons!
Lego Star Wars set and book, chocolate bunny, stuffed bunny for my son and chocolate bunny, stuffed bunny, and crayon stuff for my daughter.
Grandma is taking care of the Easter baskets this year for our babies. We are a little short on $$$. I think she’s giving them clothes.
And that is so cool about Disney! Do they just randomly select people to win that Easter Basket at the resorts?
I really didn’t want to load up my son’s basket with candy, so this year I couponed and did some reviews on a review website and racked up enough points to redeem for Amazon gift cards. I put things that I know my son will enjoy, like things for the bath, a movie and a game. I did put in just a couple of pieces of candy which I got for free with coupons of course! The total retail of my son’s basket it over $50. Out of pocket, I spent $13!!!
Way to go Ami! I’m know a lot of people that spend way more then $13 and just put candy in the kids baskets!
That’s great!
the Friends small Lego sets that were on sale at Amazon a week or two back going to be in my daughter’s Easter Basket, along with a Princess skate board that was on sale before Christmas for $8.
Last year we announced to the kids at Easter that we were going to Disney in May……unfortunately we can’t repeat that again this year!! But I got a great deal on the Disney Scene It Game so I am going to give them that. Of course there will be some candy in the baskets along with some mini lego figures and some bubbles for the youngest. Can’t believe that it will already be a year since we went to Disney….we loved it and I can’t wait to plan another trip! Thanks for all your tips and money saving deals you find!
