You may have heard Disney fans refer to Disney as “home”. There are many reasons for this. One simply being that they own Vacation Points (real estate interest) at a Disney Vacation Club Resort. For DVC (Disney Vacation Club) Members, Disney World is literally a home away from home.
Disney is where I feel safe. My personal struggles and worries are left outside the gates. I feel comforted surrounded by child-like joy and get to truly enjoy the moment. At Disney World, I feel comfort returning to familiar sights and sounds. Getting to walk down Main St USA again, around EPCOT’s World Showcase and more is like returning home.
Disney is where memories last a lifetime. Creating memories at “home” is one of the reasons I go back often. My family and I are creating memories to cherish each time we go. From the time my husband got picked to be in Indiana Jones Stunt Spectacular, to the time we got caught in the pouring rain – these are moments we talk about often. Sometimes, like the rain incident, you create funny memories unexpectedly. This is part of the Disney magic.
Disney is where I can be my authentic self. Surrounded by like-minded people, I feel at home at Disney. If there is music on and I want to sing, I do. If I want to dance to a percussion, I do. Disney is my small bubble where I can do what I want, when I want. Where is no judgement for having fun.
Disney is where I want to spend my time, as much as possible. It’s a curl up with a good book feeling. It is my small dot on the world map where everyday pressures do not bother me. It is my happy place!
