Things can vary from child to child so use your own judgement, but these are the 16 attractions that can be scary for kids at Walt Disney World.
I suggest pulling up ride through videos on YouTube to judge for yourself.
Magic Kingdom
Haunted Mansion – This ride is located within a haunted mansion that is inhabited by 999 happy haunts. It is a dark ride with lots of spooky effects that might be too overwhelming for your child.
Enchanted Tiki Room – There is a scene with thunder and booms. If loud noise startle your child, skip this one.
Space Mountain – A rollercoaster that takes place in the pitch blackness. You sit single file so they can’t hold onto you during the ride either.
Splash Mountain – There is a 5 story drop that is overwhelming for those scared of heights.
Big Thunder Mountain Railroad – There are a couple different scenes that take place in caves as well as noisy climbs and fast drops.
Astro Orbiter – If your little one is scared of heights, this one is not a good choice!
Hollywood Studios
Rock ‘N Roller Coaster – High speed coaster that takes place on a dimly lit track. There are a couple corkscrews and loops.
Tower of Terror – This a plummeting elevator that has multiple rises and falls.
Fantasmic – Mickey’s dreams are taken over by nightmares that include a number of villains. At one point there is a large snake and Maleficent turns into a dragon.
Animal Kingdom
DINOSAUR – Very dark ride with a number of twists, turns and drops as you try to escape carnivorous dinosaurs.
It’s Tough To Be A Bug – This whole attraction is about bugs and at one point they run across the backs of the audience. You can avoid that feeling by putting a jacket on the back of your child’s seat.
Expedition Everest – High speed coaster that goes backwards at one point. It also includes a steep drop.
Epcot
Journey Into Imagination – There is one scene where the lights go out and then there is a loud blast along with a gush of air that might scare kids.
Mission Space – Avoid the orange side of this ride until you try the green side first.
Living with the Land – There is a thunderstorm at the beginning of this attraction that might be overwhelming for little kids who are afraid of it.
