There is one way to do whatever you want, whenever you want on a Disney Vacation. To truly accomplish this, a Solo trip is what we are discussing. Head solo for some rest and relaxation Disney style.
Not ready for a complete solo vacation? Carve out some alone time during your trip or head to the parks when others rest.
Consider these 9 tips & benefits of a Solo Vacation:
1. Single Line Rider
Some Disney World attractions offer Single Line Rider. Take advantage of these shorter queue’s by jumping in the single rider lines. These include:
- Avatar Flight of Passage in the Animal Kingdom
- Expedition Everest in the Animal Kingdom
- Rock ‘n’ Roller Coaster in Hollywood Studios
- Test Track in Epcot
2. Wait in the Line
No single line rider available? But still an attraction or character you want to do? Grab a snack and head to the line, no matter the wait, go for it. Going solo means no one else to complain about the waiting. Try something you have never had the time to do before while at Disney.
3. Ride Again
If you stumble upon an attraction/ride that you adore with a low wait time. Go through the queue and ride again to double the fun. Again, no one to stop you!
4. Dining Alone
Don’t be afraid to try a sit-down restaurant. In-fact a smaller reservation may even be easier to snag. Consider highly rated restaurants such as: Be Our Guest or Cinderella’s Royal Table.
For those Guests 21+ consider trying one of many Disney’s Lounges/Bars, as one seat is always available somewhere. Or just snack your way through your day, the choice is yours. Many snacks do eat like a meal and often have shorter lines.
5. Take time to browse
No one pulling you in other directions means having time to notice the small details Disney puts through out the parks. Look for hidden Mickey’s and take an extra minute to capture some unique photos. Or just browse the shops and sights.
6. Dessert Party
Being a party of one means only having to buy one ticket, as opposed to buying for a group. Consider the, Fireworks Dessert Party at Tomorrowland Terrace, at Disney’s Magic Kingdom. Enjoy delicious desserts, mouth watering drinks and an incredible view of Magic Kingdom’s nightly fireworks spectacular. Tickets for adults (age 10+) are $79 (includes tax & no gratuity required).
7. Get up and Go
Leave the hotel room easily on your own. No need to stop for extra restroom breaks, food breaks etc, other than your own. This allows the ability to get up and go as you please. Or stop and take a break. This is the beauty of a solo trip.
8. Take a Tour
Consider a tour at Disney. Going solo means being able to truly focus on the tour at hand. Consider choosing from the following tours Disney offers:
- Caring for Giants Tour at Disney’s Animal Kingdom
- Culinary Tour at Disney’s Animal Kingdom Lodge
- Disney’s Keys to the Kingdom Tour at Magic Kingdom
9. Fastpass+
Reserve Fastpass+ and check again once used up. It is easier to snag hard to get Fastpass+ as a party of one. Look for rides such as Avatar: Flight of Passage and Frozen Ever After that have typical long lines.
