I want to share our review of Mickey’s Not So Scary Halloween Party. We attended in October of 2014. I was hesitant to purchase the tickets because it was almost $250 for our family of 4. After careful consideration, we decided that we wanted to do the party because it would be something exciting and new for our trip. When you have been to Disney multiple times, you are always looking for something new to experience.
With our party tickets, we were able to enter the Magic Kingdom at 4 pm with everyone else dressed in their costumes. They had a specially marked entrance and they gave us bags for our candy. We had 3 hours before the party started, so we had booked Fastpass+ reservations for 4-5 pm, 5-6 pm and 6-7 pm (there are no Fastpass+ reservations available during the party). We also grabbed a quick dinner and met up with CouponingtoDisney readers during this 3 hour window so that we were ready to party as soon as 7 pm rolled around.
We were in Tomorrowland when the party started, and we immediately saw a huge drop in wait times. For the duration of the party, Space Mountain was just 10 minutes! Almost every other ride was walk on as well.
We decided to wait to go to the candy stations until later in the evening. They don’t run out of candy, so I wouldn’t spend the first part of the party trying to fill up your bag because that is when everyone else does. We headed over to Storybook Circus so the kids could ride some of their favorite attractions.
Donald and Goofy were meeting at the exit to Barnstormer, so my hubby, I and the baby waited while the kids rode Barnstormer eight times in a row! It was so wonderful to see the smiles on their faces every time we told them to go around again.
After that, we waited at the entrance to Dumbo to meet Minnie Mouse while the kids went on Dumbo 4 times. Really, the only lines we encountered during the party were the characters. All the attractions were open and they waits were minimal. Seven Dwarfs Mine Train didn’t drop below 45 minutes though.
We were in Fantasyland behind the castle when HalloWishes started. It was absolutely amazing to see it from that vantage point. We had fireworks shooting off all around us and the soundtrack was incredible.
We went to Frontierland to see the 2nd parade of the night. It was great because we were able to get a front row seat about 20 minutes before it started. Hubby ran and got snacks and water for everyone and we sat back and waited for the parade to start. We made friends with those around us and the kids swapped stories with their kids.
When the parade started, we were all in awe of the headless horseman. His horse is so majestic that it will take your breathe away. It was also awesome to see all of the characters in their Halloween costume.
Finally, we went to the candy stations and filled our bags up. We only visited 2 stations and each had a completely full bag! We ended up leaving the party around 11:20 because the kids couldn’t go any longer.
The party was absolutely amazing! We had the BEST time. We will definitely attend another party if we visit during the dates again! I hope to go to the Christmas party next. If you are considering the party, do it! You won’t regret it.
