Great tips! We are planning a trip for January 2012 and are trying to get the most fun for our money. Thanks for the ideas.
at Epcot, you can get free soda inside the Coca Cola cool zone shop near the Innovations places. Also, you can build a plastic robot inside one of the Innovations buildings. I haven’t been there in a while, so I can’t remember where, exactly. But the free soda is always a must-hit place when we go.
We are seasonal passholders and just went to the Campfire at the Fort Wilderness. It was awesome! We brought our smores stuff from home (expensive there), roaster marshmallows, they had a sing-a-long, then Chip and Dale came out and we got to take pictures with them….they also danced some, then they show a movie on an outdoor screen. We went Friday night when they had the premier of the Phineas and Ferb movie on the Disney channel and they actually showed it on the screen, too! I highly recommend it!
Melinda, I just had to say that your post is freaking AWESOME. Three weeks? Wow.
At downtown Disney you can board the boats for a free boat ride. The captains are always fun. You can ride to the hotels and get off and go for a very nice walk.
One of the best free things we found to do is at Christmas time go to all of the disney resorts and see the Christmas displays they are great. Our favorite is the giant gingerbread house at the Grand Floridian.
This is great, thank you so much we are leaving for disney in one week from this coming tuesday!!! I did like you do and all the money I saved from couponing and all of our change we’ve saved for a year and a half I can now take my husband to Disney…he’s never even been to Florida so this will be a great trip. We are going for 3 weeks! Got a crazy awesome deal on hotwire to stay right outside of Disney in a Best Western Resort for a insane awesome price of $26 per night WOOHOO Mickey here we come!!!
When you’re waiting for the Monorail – if it’s not super crowded, or wait – ask an attendant if you can ride up front!!! If you lucky you may even get to see the fireworks in EPCOT!!!!
Actually, due to legal issues (from that accident a few years ago), no guests are allowed to ride up front anymore. :( I’m glad we got a chance to do it before then.
I always suggest the Electrical Water Pageant…it’s so CUTE…Grab a drink from the bar and head down to the pier at the Poly….What a way to end your day…OR BEGIN your night…Thanks for the tips….
We took our 2 1/2 year old to Disneyland last year, and the one thing he talks about all the time (besides meeting buzz lightyear) is dancing. We parked ourselves in Downtown Disney for about 3 hours one night listening to a jazz band, and then 2 guys on guitars. He loved it. He danced until he was falling asleep and couldn’t move anymore. :) Best time ever.
