1. runDisney 2022 Walt Disney World Marathon (January 5th-9th)

RunDisney 2022 Walt Disney World Marathon weekend returns January 5-9, 2022. Commemorative medals celebrate 50 years of Disney Magic and the EARidescent colors. See all the medals here!

2. Mickey’s magical Friendship Faire stage show debuts at Magic Kingdom (Early 2022)

Starting early 2022, live entertainment will return to the Cinderella Castle Forecourt Stage with an all-new show. “Mickey’s Magical Friendship Faire” will return enhanced for Disney World’s 50th celebration. Favorite scenes from the previous show will compliment new sequences inspired by “Frozen,” “Tangled,” and “The Princess and the Frog”. Plus, the show will feature a new opening and new finale showcasing Mickey & his friends in their EARidescent attire.

3. Carriages Rides Return (Jan. & Feb. 2022)

Carriage Rides return in 2022! Starting January 2022 guests can enjoy a carriage ride at Disney’s Fort Wilderness Resort. Starting February 2022, carriage rides resume at Disney’s Port Orleans – Riverside.

4. 2022 EPCOT International Festival Of The Arts (January 14th- February 21st)

The EPCOT International Festival of the Arts brings visual, performance and culinary art. Enjoy culinary delights from Food Studios around World Showcase. The Wonderful Walk of Colorful Cuisine is a fun food stroll featuring five delicious sweet and savory treats. Chalk artists turning walkways into stunning landscapes and portraits are a must see! Stop by the Photo ops where you can step into famous artwork and a paint-by-number mural. Figment’s Brush with the Masters scavenger hunt is back plus, special festival merchandise.

Best of all, most experiences come at no extra cost and are included with your valid park admission and park reservation.

5. DISNEY ON BROADWAY Concert Series (January 14th – February 21st)

As part of the Festival of the Arts, the beloved DISNEY ON BROADWAY Concert Series returns to the America Gardens Theatre with 3 performances each show night.

6. Festival of Fantasy Parade Returns to Magic Kingdom (Early 2022)

Confirmed coming back in early 2022 is the Disney “Festival of Fantasy” Parade! This beloved parade will once again march down the streets of Magic Kingdom.

7. Disney Adventure Friends Cavalcade coming to Magic Kingdom

Confirmed coming soon is an all-new cavalcade named, the Disney Adventure Friends Cavalcade! This will feature a great adventure through the park with the most Disney Characters in any cavalcade to date. Characters will include: Nick and Judy from “Zootopia,” Baloo and King Louie from “The Jungle Book,” José Carioca and Panchito from “The Three Caballeros,” Miguel from “Coco,” plus Merida, Moana, The Incredibles, and many more.

8. 2022 Disney Princess Half Marathon Weekend (Feb. 24-27, 2022)

Get ready to run for the 2022 Disney Princess Half Marathon Weekend presented by CORKCIRCLE. This runDisney event takes place the weekend of February 24-27, 2022. All skill levels are invited to join the race! The 2022 Disney Princess Half Marathon Weekend medals feature Disney Princesses and EARidescent designs.

9. Walt Disney World Resort Hosting 2022 Special Olympics (June 5-12th)

Walt Disney World Resort is the host of the 2022 USA Games for the Special Olympics. The games will be hosted at the ESPN Wide World of Sports Complex, celebrating the 50th anniversary of Special Olympics Florida.

10. Guardians of the Galaxy: Cosmic Rewind! Opens Summer 2022 at EPCOT

Get ready for galaxy time with Guardians of the Galaxy: Cosmic Rewind opening in summer of 2022. The family friendly coaster coming to EPCOT will be one of the longest fully-enclosed roller coasters found worldwide.

11. Xandar Pavilion at EPCOT

Glenn Close will reprise her role, named Nova Prime, as the leader of Xandar and commander of the Nova Corps. Nova Prime will be found in the all-new Wonders of Xandar pavilion, which is currently being constructed by the Xandarians. Once complete, inside learn about their advanced technologies they are bringing to Earth (aka Terra as they call it), their culture & history and more.

12. The Connections Café and Eatery at EPCOT (Opening Date Unknown)

As part of EPCOT’s ongoing park transformation, The Connections Café and Eatery will open as a new a quick-service restaurant for guests. The Connections Café and Eatery will be part of the World Celebration neighborhood at EPCOT. It is also said it will be located in the former Electric Umbrella restaurant location.

13. MagicBand+ Will Debut in 2022 at WDW (Exact date unknown)

With Disney World adding more digital offerings such as Disney Genie Service, many have been wondering the future of MagicBands, today we have that answer!

MagicBands were first introduced at Walt Disney World in 2013, adding hands-free convenience for entering parks, Resort rooms and more. The newest generation of wearable technology, MagicBand+ will debut 2022 at Walt Disney World! Sneak peak above and read more here.

14. Fantasmic! Returns to Hollywood Studios (2022)

Josh D’Amaro, Chairman, Disney Parks, Experiences and Products, has confirmed that Fantasmic! will return in 2022 at Hollywood Studios. While no exact opening date was confirmed for 2022, another detail was shared. When Fantasmic! reopens it will feature an all-new sequence with live performers, stunts, special effects and more.

15. Reimagined Finding Nemo – The Musical Opening At Animal Kingdom (Sometime in 2022)

Find Nemo – The Musical is not closing forever, but being reimagined instead! The new show will debut sometime in 2022, while still featuring your favorite Characters of the show and songs such as, “In the Big Blue World” and “Go with the Flow”. Look forward to all new material as Disney Live Entertainment develops the reimagined show. More info will be released closer to show debut next year.

16. Parking Trams Returning Throughout 2022

Disney Parks recently took to social media to spread some Holiday cheer – Parking Trams will return to Magic Kingdom at the end of December, 2021! Plus, throughout 2022, guests will see parking trams return to other Disney World parks.

17. New Walt Disney Statue Coming To EPCOT (Date Unknown)

Another addition will be a brand new statue of Walt Disney, in a new location called Dreamers Point (found near Spaceship Earth at EPCOT). Dreamers Point will be park of World Celebration and include an interactive fountain, lush gardens and even a wishing tree!

18. Pathways Linking Four Neighborhoods at EPCOT (Date Unknown)

Also upcoming are new planters, landscaping and pathways that will eventually link to the four new neighborhoods of EPCOT (World Celebration, World Discovery, World Nature and World Showcase).
