As we look forward to this year, these announcements from 2017 will change your Disney vacation for 2018. From a refurbishment, to the fireworks show and a new policy at Resorts. Read the 3 Most Shocking Announcements of 2017 below.
1. Pirates Of The Caribbean
Announced in 2017 is that a scene from Pirates Of The Caribbean at Magic Kingdom will be replaced. The Mercado auction is getting an overhaul. The famous red head pictured above will reappear, however, with a new role. No longer will the auction host a “wench for a bride”. She will instead help with the “unloading” of “valuables” for the townspeople, such as animals.
Therefore, Pirates of The Caribbean will be closed for refurbishment from February 26 through March 18, 2018.
Also, added in 2017 was an On Ride Photo for this attraction.
2. Wishes
2017 also brought a big change in nighttime entertainment to Magic Kingdom as well. Wishes was the nighttime fireworks spectacular from 2003-2017. Wishes was replaced by Happily Ever After.
Happily Ever After debuted on May 12, 2017. Witness storytelling, fireworks and more at its best.
