If you are planning a Disney vacation and want to stretch your dollar, here are 5 ingenious ways to save money at Disney.
1. Get adjoining rooms at a value resort – If you are traveling with more than 4 people over 3 years old, get adjoining rooms at a value resort to save money. If you are parents with kids under 18, it is guaranteed that you will get adjoining rooms.
2. Visit during free dining – In the fall Disney offers a promotion called free dining. You will get the dining plan for free with your Disney resort stay. There are usually a list of specifications but you could save quite a bit a money if you qualify.
3. Order groceries from Amazon Pantry – There is a delivery fee of $5 for Disney to accept your package for you, but you can still save quite a bit of money especially if you are flying. Place your order up to 2 weeks before your arrival day and ship it to your resort in your name.
4. Visit in the off season – If school is in session, prices are usually lower. Visit in September, early December or late January for low crowds.
5. Work with a travel agent – Disney travel agents are 100% free to you (if you are staying on Disney property) and can help you save money by watching for deals and specials. Our agent is Kari and you can click here to learn more about using her services.

Hi! I really enjoy your blog. I have learned a lot over the years. I have a few comments regarding your 5 ways to save $ at Disney :
1. We use Value resorts if 4 or less are going. We probably couldn’t afford two rooms or a Moderate. We use our pop-up camper and tent for a group over 4.
2. I may try free dining next year but having to purchase park hopper tickets is an added expense.
3. We drive, so ordering groceries is not necessary for us.
4. We can’t go during value or moderate seasons because our grands (4 out of 5) are teens and can not miss school, especially with accelerated classes, band, football, baseball, track, etc! Summer is waaaay too hot. So that leaves the other school holidays when prices are jacked up. Thanksgiving week is our favorite!
5. I used a Disney Travel Agent once and ended up doing most everything myself. I almost missed out on day180 dining reservations. Because of a death in her family, she told me she would be out of town and may not be available to make my res on day 180. Now I can sympathize with her sorrows but she should have had someone lined up to handle her clients otherwise I would have lost out. I made the res myself and did fine. Sorry if this sounds bad but I actually knew more than she did.
I wish you could come up with some new info or tips for Disney vets. I love your ideas for saving to go to Disney. Some even work for me. Lol.
