As we look forward to 2021, Disney World has many exciting happenings. This year is also a milestone, celebrating the 50th anniversary of Disney World on October 1, 2021. While we wait for news on what any celebrations will look like, we have 7 confirmed updates for 2021 to look forward to! Starting with the return of Park Hopper for Disney World guests.
Park Hopper Returns January 1st
The Park Hopper Option returns to Walt Disney World starting January 1, 2021! Guests who purchase an Annual Pass or ticket with Park Hopper, will be able to visit more than 1 park per day starting 1/1/21, with some modifications.
The updated Park Hopper will require guests to have a Disney Park Pass reservation for their 1st park of the day and fulfill this reservation by entering the park, prior to visiting another park. A park reservation will not be needed after your first park, this is subject to change. Guests may Park Hop starting at 2pm daily and until park closing time.
Festival of the Arts Begins January 8th
Guests can enjoy a celebration of visual, performing and culinary arts during the 2021 Taste of EPCOT International Festival of the Arts from January 8th through February 22nd. Take a peak at some of the happenings to enjoy below!
2021 Taste of EPCOT International Festival of the Arts Includes:
- Indulge in over 15 Food Studios serving culinary art all around World Showcase
- Explore and purchase the brilliant and diverse work of Disney and other invited artists on display in marketplaces encircling World Showcase Lagoon
- Step into the scene at special photo locations scattered around the park
- Participate in a paint-by-number mural that serves as a collaborative art project for all
- Watch as visiting artists create magic right before your eyes
- Catch performances by favorite EPCOT musical artists Mariachi Cobre and the JAMMitors.
- Join an artful scavenger hunt as you search for Figment around World Showcase
- Shop for festival-exclusive merchandise
Disney’s All Star Movies Resort Reopens February 9th
Disney’s All Star Movies will reopen for guests on February 9, 2021. Reservations are now open for guests wanting to stay at this Value resort. Enjoy theming from favorite Disney & Pixar movies such as Toy Story, Fantasia and more.
Disney’s Polynesian Village Resort Reopens Summer 2021
Disney has confirmed that Disney’s Polynesian Village Resort will remain closed until the summer of 2021. This is due to refurbishments at the Great Ceremonial House, which will also results in its monorail service being suspended until reopening.
Star Wars: Galactic Starcruiser Hotel Opens 2021
Star Wars fans are anticipating an all new experience at Hollywood Studios with Star Wars: Galactic Starcruiser, an immersive vacation opportunity. This 2-night, cruise-style itinerary stay will have guests in the midst of Star Wars storytelling. Above, see new concept art for the arrival of your adventure, with the Galactic Starcruiser Terminal. From there, guests will head to their exclusive launch pod, with views of space through the viewports.
Included in the itinerary is a visit to Batuu, also known as Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge. When does the fun start? Star Wars: Galactic Starcruiser will debut at Hollywood Studios in 2021.

Harmonious (EPCOT) Opening 2021
As part of EPCOTs multi-year transformation is an all-new permanent Epcot nighttime spectacular. The new show celebrates how Disney music inspires, featuring large floating pieces, choreographed moving fountains and custom-built LED panels. Along with music, lights, lasers and fireworks, named Harmonious. This will be the parks largest nighttime show ever and one of Disney World’s all-time biggest shows.
Recently the first floating platform was installed!
Remy’s Ratatouille Adventure (EPCOT) Opening 2021
Originally supposed to open during Summer of 2020, guests can look forward to this new ride sometime in 2021. Exact date still to be announced. Coming to the France Pavilion in the World Showcase, guests can board their own Remy ride vehicle and race across Gusteau’s Kitchen floor on a trackless adventure. Guests will shrink down to the size of a rat on this attraction, based on Disney-Pixar Ratatouille.
