Thrill rides are not for everyone. Some guests prefer to enjoy their attractions, without clinging out of fear. Even if you are cowardly towards thrill rides, these 5 are tame enough to enjoy!
Seven Dwarfs Mine Train
While Seven Dwarfs Mine Train at Magic Kingdom seems intimidating, there are not any huge drops. Your mine cart will gently sway while riding, however there are not any sharp turns to be afraid of. The family friendly coaster features small drops only, guests at least 38″ may ride.
Slinky Dog Dash
A great starter coaster and thrill ride is Slinky Dog Dash in Hollywood Studios. Guests at least 38″ tall can ride in the coils of Slinky on Slinky Dog Dash. This coaster can seem intimidating because it is an open-construction concept, however it does not contain sharp turns or drops. Enjoy a mild, and thrilling ride with a quick take off at the start, and once again in the middle. See Wheezy at the end of your ride!
The Barnstormer
Goofy invites guests 35″ and taller to ride on his homemade stunt airplane. Find The Barnstormer, a junior coaster in Magic Kingdom, which features only small drops. This makes for a perfect first roller coaster experience. Little ones will feel safer when they push the “slow” button, I love Disney’s touches!
Soarin’ Around The World
Take a thrilling journey around the World, without leaving your seat on Soarin’ Around the World in Epcot. This attraction resembles a hang-gliding experience virtually flying over landmarks from around the World. Do note, if you are scared of heights this ride does take guests up to 40 feet in the air. Otherwise, this is the perfect thrill attraction for non-roller coaster fans. Guests 40″ or taller can ride.
Splash Mountain
When you are ready to move up on your thrill level, go for the classic Splash Mountain in Magic Kingdom. It does feature 3 drops and one large drop (5-stories). However, the attraction is much more than just drops with over 100 Audio-Animatronics that talk and sing, plus Br’er Fox, Br’er Rabbit and classic songs, “Zip-a-Dee-Doo-Dah” and more.
