One of the easiest ways to grow your vacation fund is by earning cash back where you shop. Before you buy anything online, check Swagbucks to see if they offer Cash Back.

Once you log in, go to the shop tab to see what stores are participating.

Right now Walmart is offering 1% Cash Back. Kohl’s is 4% Cash Back and even Ebay gives 1% Cash Back.

To get your Cash Back, you will need to visit Swagbucks and click on the store where you want to shop. Once it redirects you, THEN add the items to your cart.

You can also download the SwagButton for your browser to have it pop up an alert when you visit a website that is participating in Cash Back. To download the SwagButton, just search for it on Swagbucks.com. You might even win SB for doing so!

Highly Rated Slow Cooker Honey Garlic Chicken & Veggies

Are you looking for a new slow cooker recipe to try? We tested the Slow Cooker Honey Garlic Chicken & Veggies and it came out amazing. Set it and forget it.

Ingredients:

8 Chicken thighs, bone-in skin-on
16 oz Baby carrots
16 oz Baby red potatoes
1 tsp Basil, dried
2 cloves Garlic
16 oz Green beans
1/2 tsp Oregano, dried
2 tbsp Parsley, fresh leaves
1/2 cup Honey
1/4 cup Ketchup
1/2 cup Soy sauce, reduced sodium
1/4 tsp Black pepper, ground
1/4 tsp Red pepper flakes

DIRECTIONS:

In a large bowl, combine soy sauce, honey, ketchup, garlic, basil, oregano, red pepper flakes and pepper.
Place chicken thighs, potatoes, carrots and soy sauce mixture into a 6-qt slow cooker. Cover and cook on low heat for 7-8 hours or high for 3-4 hours, basting every hour. Add green beans during the last 30 minutes of cooking time.
OPTIONAL: Preheat oven to broil. Place chicken thighs onto a baking sheet, skin side up, and broil until crisp, about 3-4 minutes.
Serve chicken immediately with potatoes, carrots and green beans, garnished with parsley, if desired.

I decided to double the sauce and I’m glad it did. It covered everything and the chicken just falls apart!

Use Up Bits & Pieces Of Food To Make Snack Packs

I was going through my lunch meat drawer in my fridge the other day and found bits and pieces of food.

There was 1/4 of a sliced pepperoni package left, a small piece of smoked sausage and less than half a wedge of cheese. No one was eating these as they were. That is until I cut and divided them up into snack packs! Fruits and veggies are another perfect item to prep into snack packs!

It is much more likely to be eaten and requires just a small amount of prep time. Plus, it saves money by using up what we already have.

Mini Hawaiian Roll Cheeseburger Sliders Recipe (Cheap Dinner Idea)

Hawaiian Roll Cheeseburger sliders are simple to make with few ingredients. I decided to make these recently when I saw a $1.50/1 Hawaiian Rolls digital coupon pop up on my grocery store rewards app.

Ingredients:

1 lb hamburg
Breadcrumbs
Salt & Pepper
Hawaiian Buns
Cheese
Toppings such as: pickles, lettuce, tomatoes

Recipe:

Mix 1-2lbs Hamburg, 1 cup breadcrumbs, salt and pepper.
Pre heat to 400 degrees
Flatten burger mix in pan or oven safe dish
Cook for 15-20 minutes
Keep rolls together and cut in half, add Hamburg and toppings

Does Your Electric Supplier Use Peak Pricing?

Did you know you can save money on electricity depending on what time of day you do laundry, run your dishwasher and more? This is true if your electric company uses peak pricing!

Simply change your time-of-use (TOU) and save. I encourage you to call your electric supplier, or search their website, I encourage you to find out now!

What is variable peak pricing (VPP)? VPP pricing encourages people to shift the time they use energy, by rewarding those who use power at non-peak times with a lower cost. Simply put, use power during off peak times to save on your rate (my supplier is calculated by daily pricing).

In my home, Eversource is our supplier, and their on-peak times are 12 (noon) – 8pm, Monday through Friday. Any other time is considered off-peak, which includes weekends.
