You guys! I must have scared Disneyland with that last post, because they finally released their prices! HA, I win.
So, this is where having a TA has been really useful. You know Erin originally mocked up some pricing for me so I could at least get an idea of the budget. She messaged me, hours before I saw it posted anywhere else, that the pricing had finally been released. Then, because she knew we were considering changing an aspect of our trip, she doubled checked my dates and actually quoted me two ways- starting in San Diego and starting in Anaheim. On a side note, the general price estimates she gave me were pretty dang close! I could have never done that on my own.
So we’re actually doing a bit of a change to the trip. My husband is a geek. I’m a geek too, but we’re geeky in different ways. I like Fantasy, he likes Sci-Fi. I love DuckTales, he’s a Darkwing Duck fan. I’m into Star Wars, and his favorite will always be Star Trek. Don’t get me wrong, we have a lot of crossover, but one that that is unequivocally his, is the love of Star Trek. We’ve been married 13 years. He’s dragged me through several full series and many of the old movies. He makes me buy CBS All Access so he can watch Discovery and I’m certain I’ll have to retain it so he can watch the new Picard show too. It makes him happy, what can I say? I’m still Han Solo, rather than Captain Picard, but we compromise.
With that in mind, I got to thinking. We’ve done Disney A LOT. He’s been amazing about it. He went from wanting to only do a trip every five years or so to signing on for annual passes. He’s excited for Star Wars Land, and seeing the magic through Miss Bongo’s eyes- that’s priceless. Still, Disney is a me thing. We’ve done other trips, but nothing specifically for him. This is what the little Las Vegas add on was originally- a little something for him. But a little isn’t really enough.
I’m striking Las Vegas from our trip, because I plan on taking him to Las Vegas later in the summer- for the Star Trek Convention. This is 100% for him. It’s whatever he wants to do, what he wants to see, what he wants to buy- whatever. In my dream world, we’ll score Comic Con tickets for San Diego and we can both absolutely geek out, but I know tickets to that are like catching a unicorn. So Star Trek Convention it is. Space Whales help me y’all, I dunno if I can survive it. I’m gonna double my budget to account for booze. Ha!
