This week has been spent checking out the food offerings at Disneyland. I’m a spreadsheet kind of girl. I love them. I’ve got a spreadsheet of Disneyland food, California Adventure Food and Disney Resorts/Downtown Disney food. I’m going through and checking menus to identify our must tries, places that would be acceptable (these are the typical burger and nugget places) and I’m deleting anything that doesn’t fit what I’m looking for in a restaurant. Once I figure out where we want to eat, I’ll go through and figure out how much each of these meals will cost us.
I do the same thing for Disney World. It’s my joy, I don’t know why.
I did something I said I wasn’t going to do. I got with Erin and I booked that awesome Christmas package I mentioned a few weeks ago. Not only that, we’ve decided to go with the dining plan. It’s taken me hours of research to come to this decision.
Anyone want to buy a kidney?
Seriously, I wouldn’t have booked it if we couldn’t afford it, but I am putting the pressure on myself to really up my earnings. My husband and I aren’t going to exchange Christmas gifts this year, instead we’re counting the family trip as our gift. I’m almost completely done shopping for everyone for Christmas, which is a big weight off my mind. I’m going to continue the pantry clean out into September, step up my decluttering to sell things we don’t need- and of course, I’m going to be doing more with my survey sites. Instead of taking a paperback to read while waiting in the school pick up line, I’m working Dabbl. Same when we drive somewhere- I’m working the survey sites on my phone while my husband drives. It’s just about finding more time, without taking time away from watching my family.
We’ve been doing a killer job of eating at home this month. Working on cleaning out the pantry and freezer has really helped us stay on task and eat in, as well as cut our grocery budget. I had no idea I had so much chicken already! A whole Costco-sized back (already vacuum sealed) had been buried in my deep freezer under frozen pizzas and junk. Mmmm, taste the savings!
This week was down with earnings. It happens, especially towards the end of a month. One of my miscellaneous earning sites frequently runs out of work several days before the end of the month, which hurts my earnings with them- but it is what it is. You just gotta roll with the punches! As we approach Christmas, I know more opportunities will pop up. In the meantime, if I come up with some creative new ways to make money or find some killer new apps, I’ll be sure to share the love.
