I’ve been taking a look at Disneyland restaurants recently. Did y’all know that Disneyland Advanced Dining Reservations (ADRs) can only be made 60 days in advance? These people are so laid back, I don’t know how to function. Walt Disney World is 180 days and you’d better be johnny-on-the-spot to catch some of the more popular ones. I’m going through and checking every menu. I want to make sure we pick some unique and interesting meals. Of course, I also want to get a frame of reference for what we can expect to spend on meals and snacks.
I feel like I’m doing a lot of twiddling my thumbs on this vacation. Things really won’t heat up until 60 days out. Until then it’s mostly just hustling to earn the money for my payments. Thankfully I’ve got the Ultimate Christmas trip to keep me occupied. Bless Erin, she went through my plan with me step by step, booked our putt-putt reservations and made a payment for me! I’m so glad I’m not the one sitting on the phone for an hour to do this. Love you, Erin!
So, I finally did it y’all. I’ve become a cord cutter. Our tv/internet package was set to jump up $47 after our promos expired! Already fairly dissatisfied with what we were paying (we only need a few channels that are of course only on more expensive packages) I started looking around for options. Long, boring story short (imagine an awesome montage here of me staring at charts, thoughtfully tapping my pen, etc.) we’re going to be saving $20 a month from what we were paying on promotion and $67 a month on what my bill would have jumped to because the promos were ending. Woo Woo! $20 a month is nothing to sneeze at, ya know? I hate we couldn’t make it even cheaper, but we love sports. I’m pretty pleased to be saving $240 a year on tv services though.
My Dabbl app was down for a while. That’s a great earner for me, usually $5-$10 a week, so it’s hurt to be without it. Thankfully they have fixed the login issues and I’m looking forward to jumping back in with the earnings!
I went to GameStop to spend my $15 coupon that I received when my Think Geek points converted after the website closed. While there, we learned they have a “free to good home” box, full of items that have to be out of the store in the next few days. We scored several Funko Pop bobbleheads and figurines! Unfortunately, later that day we also found out we have a $4000 unexpected bill to take care of. Isn’t that how it goes? Save a dollar, spend out $4000. We also like to call it the “Disney Curse” in Savears. Book a trip and something breaks. Yikes. We’ve got to have some conversations about our travel plans for late 2019/2020 now. Ugh.
