Disney is introducing a new member named Lily, the newest Cinderella Pony. Lily is named after Walt Disney’s wife. The pony, Lily was born in March and the first Shetland pony born at the Tri-Circle D Ranch at Fort Wilderness Resort.
Both Lily’s parents, Lady (mom) and Ferdinand (dad) are Cinderella’s Ponies, that pull her pumpkin coach during parades and Disney’s Fairytale weddings, at Magic Kingdom park.
In Lily’s future, once she turns 2, she will take after her parents and begin training to pull the magical coach. She will be part of the team by age 3. Until then, guests can see Lily at Disney’s Fort Wilderness Resort & Campground in the show pasture, near the barn. She will appear for a few hours, daily.
Disney World currently has 90 horses and ponies used for carriage, wagon, pony & trail rides and special events. There is a team of 35 ranch hands for care of them.
