If you love meeting characters and want to extend that to your dining experiences, here’s an example of Walt Disney World character reservation suggestions you could make if you are using the Magic Your Way plus dining plan.
Day 1 at the Magic Kingdom
Breakfast at Cinderella’s Royal Table – Try to shoot for an 8 am reservation. Be sure to get their early as Photopass photographers are on Main Street and you can get pictures without anyone in your background! Plus your little prince and princess can meet the Disney princesses.
(Will use 2 table serve credits)
Lunch at Pinocchio Village Haus – Grab a seat near the big windows and wave at the people on It’s a Small World
(Will use 1 counter service credit)
Dinner – Grab a large pizza from your hotel’s food court for about $20.
(pay for this meal out of pocket)
Day 2 at Epcot
Breakfast in your hotel room
Lunch at La Hacienda de San Angel in Mexico – Sit next to the water and enjoy people watching
(Will use 1 counter service credit)
Dinner at Garden Grill – Try to shoot for a 5 pm reservation. You can enjoy food that is grown right in Epcot and visit with Mickey, Pluto, Chip and Dale.
(Will use 1 table serve credit)
Day 3 at Animal Kingdom
Breakfast at Donald’s Safari (Tusker House) – Aim for an 8 am reservation so you can enter the park before other guests. This restaurant is also near the safari ride so you can enjoy it after you eat.
(Will use 1 table serve credit)
Lunch – Use your snack credits to get snack credits to satisfy you for a while
Dinner – Have an early dinner at Pizzafari.
(Will use 1 counter service credit)
Day 4 at the Magic Kingdom
Breakfast in your hotel room
Lunch at Paco’s Bill – Be sure to load your burger with all the delicious toppings
(Will use 1 counter service credit)
Dinner at Chef Mickey’s – Shoot for a 5 pm reservation so you can enjoy the characters and still make it back to the park to see Wishes.
(Will use 1 table serve credit)
Day 5 at Hollywood Studios
Breakfast in your hotel room
Lunch at Woody’s Lunch Box (it’s from the Toy Story movie!)
(Will use 1 counter service credit)
Dinner from your resort’s food court
(pay for this meal out of pocket)
Day 6 at Epcot
Breakfast at Akershus – I would choose breakfast here as the lunch is Norwegian food and it’s ‘interesting’.
(Will use 1 table serve credit)
Lunch – Use snack credits to by snacks from Around the World
Dinner at Sunshine Seasons – They have something for everyone!
(Will use 1 counter service credit)
Day 7 at Magic Kingdom
Breakfast at ‘Ohanas – Aim for an 8 am reservation so you still arrive at Magic Kingdom early.
(Will use 1 table serve credit)
Lunch – Use snack credits to buy treats that fill you up
Dinner at Cosmic Rays – Be sure to check out what each counter serves before placing your order (they each have something different)
(Will use 1 counter service credit)

I have heard mixed reviews on Chef Mickey’s. We didn’t do it last time we went because my mom decided to go last minute and we couldn’t get a reservation. Has anyone experienced both breakfast and dinner? I’ve heard breakfast is better, but just wanted some other opinions. :)
I have seen you posting lots about Garden Grill. What do others have to say about this one? We were there for christmas 2 years ago… the night we were suppose to all eat there my daughter an I had the flu and we didn’t go. My hubby’s whole family said it was horrible. We are planning a trip in 2013 and I would like some opinions(other than family)
We had dinner there in January (me, DH, DDs who were 3 and 1.5, my parents, my sister, and her BFF). The food was delicious, and we saw each of the characters 3 times each. We got the first reservation at 4pm when they open, so we weren’t rushed at all to eat, and the girls enjoyed the characters. The rotating dining room is really cool.
Garden Grill is one of our Favs, food is awesome and character interaction is some of the best!
Love the Garden Grill! We had breakfast and it was awesome, probabaly the best meal we had at Disney. The character interactions were wonderful and the rotating resturant made the entire experience unique. Highly recommend it!
I wish Hollywood Studios had another option for character dining. We are big into character dining so we did the Playhouse Disney one, and I was not impressed. My daughter (2) liked the characters but my older children hid under the table when the preschool show characters came to visit us. Something with Woody or Buzz would be nice…
