Recently we posted about Disney’s Polynesian Village Resort being closed due to refurbishments until Summer 2021. Today we have new details!
Disney’s Polynesian Village Resort first opened to guests on October 1, 1971. Now we know, the plan is for Disney’s Polynesian Village Resort enhancements to be complete by the Resort’s 50th Anniversary.
Enhancements:
- A new porte cochere to showcase mid-20th century architecture.
- Bold new wooden screens along the Monorail station in tropical colors.
- Gardens and fountains will be enhanced.
- New chandeliers at the entryway to match existing grand chandelier in the resort lobby.
During the refurbishment, guests will still be able to access the Great Ceremonial House with retail and operating dining. The remainder of the Resort will reopen Summer 2021!
