Recently, Disney World rolled our a new add-on Ticket option, named the Water Park and Sports Option. This can now be added to your One Park per day Ticket.
The Water Park and Sports Option gives guests access to one theme park of choice & your choice of one water park or sports option such as a golf course or sports facility, as listed below. This is per day bought, therefore purchase a 2-Day ticket and you would get to visit one park per day and one option below per day, for 2 days and so on.
Water Park and Sports Option Includes:
- Blizzard Beach water park
- Typhoon Lagoon water park
- The NBA Experience
- ESPN Wide World of Sports Complex
- Disney’s Oak Trail Golf Course
- Fantasia Gardens Miniature Golf Course
- Winter Summerland Miniature Golf Course
The cost of this add-on is a flat rate of $70. Today we are going to explore, is this worth it?! To find out if its “worth it”, we need to know out of pocket costs, as outlined below.
- Water Park Admission (Typhoon Lagoon or Blizzard Beach) costs $69/adult (guests 10+), $63/child
- The NBA Experience costs $34/adult, $29/child
- ESPN Wide World of Sports Complex (open during events only) costs $19.50/adult, $14.50/child
- Disney’s Oak Trail Golf Course costs around $45 for a tee time
- Fantasia Gardens Miniature Golf Course or Winter Summerland Miniature Golf Course costs $14/adult and $12/child
Prices do not include tax.
Is The Water Park & Sports Option Ticket Add-On Worth It?
For guests going for one-day only, you would not come out ahead and would be better off paying out of pocket for any extra you do (if you find the time!).
Since the add-on is a one time only fee, guests who go for 2 or more days with the add-on can come out ahead. To come out ahead, guests would want to do a Water Park and Sports Day option valued at least $35. Therefore going to a Water Park or a round of Gold at Disney’s Oak Trail Golf Course would be worth it for 2 days. Otherwise, the other options are best paid out of pocket.
Per 3 days, value to aim for daily becomes just over $23 and continues to decrease as you add more days. This assumes you have enough energy to go to a Disney Park + a Water Park or Sports option daily!
Also worth noting, guests will not come out ahead on Mini Golf unless they add this option to a 6-Day Ticket.
Another thing to think about is Park Hopper Option Plus.
