Disney World recently shared news to SWEETen your day.
Magic Kingdom is prepping for the start of The World’s Most Magical Celebration, an 18-month long 50th anniversary celebration, which begins Oct. 1, 2021. Some of the prep work has already begun, such as the freshly painted Cinderella Castle and recently added 50th anniversary decor. Also look to Fantasyland attractions and see gold leaf be added!
Disney has shared that Main Street Confectionery will be getting a makeover. Guests can look forward to a fresh new look, as well as interactive experiences to customize your sweets and an expanded layout with more room to shop.
With updates means closures to complete, both Main Street Confectionery and The Chapeau will close for refurbishment as a result, starting March 29, 2021. There is no announced reopening date at this time.
However, guests will find merchandise and sweets in other locations. During the closure shop sweets at Emporium and Main Street Cinema. Additionally, find your favorite gear such as Mouse Ears at Box Office Gifts, at the Town Square Theater. Collectibles and artwork will be located at Bonjour! Village Gifts, during the closure.
