Are you planning on visit Walt Disney World in November? Here is everything you need to know about that time of the year:
Crowds
Crowds fluctuate throughout the month of November. The first week in November is referred to as “Jersey” week and it is a week that the schools in New Jersey get off and many residents flock to Disney World for a vacation. The week of Thanksgiving sees heavy crowds as many people make the decision to spend this holiday with their favorite Disney characters instead of their extended family.
I suggest visiting in the second week or if Thanksgiving is early in the month I also suggest the week following the holiday.
Weather
The average temperature throughout the month is around 78F. The average rainfall is 1.9 inches. Pack light clothing, a light jacket and bring your bathing suit.
November is considered hurricane season. Be prepared by reading this article on traveling to Walt Disney World during hurricane season.
Parks
The Magic Kingdom is open until 9 pm except for nights that have Mickey’s Very Merry Christmas Party. On those nights, it will close at 7 pm unless you have a party ticket. On nights with Extra Magic Hours, the park will stay open as late as 11 PM. Hollywood Studios is open until 7:00 pm most nights except for nights with Extra Magic Hours. Animal Kingdom is open until 9pm or 10pm each night but they open at 8 am on mornings with Extra Magic Hours.
Epcot plays host to the International Food and Wine Festival (until mid November) which will draw heavier crowds especially on the weekends. The park opens at 9 am and closes at 9 pm except on days where it has Extra Magic Hours.
Events
Mickey’s Very Merry Christmas Party takes place on select nights in November. You do have to purchase an extra ticket if you plan to attend this event.
Epcot’s International Food and Wine Festival is included with the cost of your park ticket. It does bring heavier crowds on the weekend when the locals attend.
