I love hanging out on Couponing to Disney every week with you, answering questions about the Happiest Place on Earth! Disney Dining Plans sure do create a lot of conversation-and confusion in some cases. When you are at Disney, part of the wonderful vacation experience is the food! Character Dining, Signature Dining, and even quick service dining are all Disney’s way of adding extra magic to your trip. So today, I am going to share with you some Disney Dining FAQs.
What is Tables in Wonderland?
Tables in Wonderland is open to Disney Vacation Club Members, Disney Annual Passholders, and Florida Residents. It provides a 20% discount on food and beverage items at dining locations around the Walt Disney World Resort. There are some restaurants that are occasionally blacked out, and may not accept Tables in Wonderland. However, it is a great way to save money on dining at Disney. It ranges in cost from $100-$125, depending on if you are a DVC member, AP holder, or FL resident.
What are the basics of the Disney Dining Plans?
Disney Dining Plans allow guests to prepay for their meals before arriving at Walt Disney World. You are allowed credits for meals, based on the nights of stay. When you purchase a meal, the CastMember scans your MagicBand and your dining credits are deducted. You can use your dining entitlements in any order, and as many as you’d like in one day.
What are the “rules” for the Disney Dining Plan?
Disney has two major requirements for their dining plans. First, you must be staying in a Walt Disney World Resort to enjoy the benefits of a Disney Dining Plan. Second, all guests on your reservation must take part in the same dining plan. It’s either dining for everyone, or no one.
When should I add a Dining Plan to my reservation?
You should add a dining plan to your reservation at the time of booking. If you are undecided on the Disney Dining Plan, then you need to add it at least 3 days before arrival. You cannot add it upon your arrival at Walt Disney World.
What can I order when I am using the Disney Dining Plan?
This is where the Disney Dining Plan can be a huge money saver. You can order basically anything from the menu when using the Disney Dining Plan. You can order the Market Price Sustainable Catch or the $20 Rainbow Seared Trout from Coral Reef, and still only use one table service credit per entree.
