Hello Couponing to Disney readers! I’m Carrie, vacation specialist with Destinations in Florida, an Authorized Disney Vacation Planner, and I visit you each week here on Couponing to Disney to answer some Disney FAQs. I love hanging out on Couponing to Disney every week with you, answering questions about the Happiest Place on Earth! Walt Disney World Transportation is a fantastic service offered to all Disney guests. Walt Disney World uses buses, monorails, and water taxis to transport people all over Disney property! Today, I’d like to share some Walt Disney World transportation tips with you!
How do I get to my Disney Resort from the Orlando International Airport?
Walt Disney World offers a magical start to your Disney vacation on the Magical Express. If you are a Disney Resort guest, and you fly into Orlando International Airport, you can use Disney’s Magical Express service. This motor coach will meet you at the airport, and transport you and your family to your Disney resort.
What is the best way to get from one Disney park to another?
Disney offers three modes of transportation between parks. The Disney motor coach system, Disney’s monorail, and water taxis are the way to get around Disney property. Below, you’ll find a list of the best way to get around from place to place:
- Magic Kingdom to EPCOT: Monorail or boat to the Transportation and Ticket Center (TTC), then transfer to the Epcot monorail line
- MK to Animal Kingdom: Monorail or boat to TTC, then bus
- MK to Disney’s Hollywood Studios: Monorail or boat to TTC, then bus
- EPCOT to MK: Monorail to TTC, then transfer to MK monorail
- EPCOT to Animal Kingdom: Disney Bus
- EPCOT to DHS: Disney Bus (from the front entrance), boat (from the back entrance), walk (from the back entrance)
- AK to MK: bus to TTC, then monorail or boat
- AK to EPCOT bus
- AK to DHS: bus
- DHS to MK: bus to TTC, then monorail or boat
- DHS to AK: bus
- DHS to EPCOT: bus, boat or walk
Who can use Disney Park transportation?
Any guest of the Walt Disney World Resort may use the transportation. If you are staying in a Good Neighbor Hotel, you would take your hotel shuttle to a park at the beginning of the day. Once you are on Disney property, you can use the buses and monorails to go from park to park or to the resorts.
Can I walk to any Disney parks from my resort?
Yes. Disney’s Yacht and Beach Club Resorts and Disney’s Boardwalk Inn are walking distance from both EPCOT and Disney’s Hollywood Studios. Disney’s Contemporary Resort and Bay Lake Tower are walking distance to the Magic Kingdom.
Do Disney buses travel from Downtown Disney to the theme parks?
No, they do not. To get to a theme park from Downtown Disney, the best thing is to take a resort bus to a neighboring resort. For example, if you want to go to Magic Kingdom, take a monorail resort bus and transfer to the monorail to go to the Magic Kingdom. For EPCOT or Hollywood Studios, take an EPCOT resort bus and then you can walk to DHS or EPCOT.
