So you are going to Disney for just one day and you need to know how to get cheap tickets….. well that’s hard. Disney doesn’t want you to just go for one day, so they make their one day tickets outrageous. The longer your ticket is for, the cheaper it is per day.
A one day ticket for an adult is $82 and for a child is $74.
Authorized Disney ticket sellers like Undercover Tourist don’t even offer a 1 day option. However their muli-day tickets are cheaper than Disney’s prices.
There are timeshares that offer one day tickets if you are interested in sitting through one of them for your tickets. However there are many that are not legit and it might be a waste of time.
Don’t fall for the scams as you drive down to Disney that advertise free or cheap tickets. You will only be out time, energy and money.
Buying tickets online from people on Ebay or Craigslist is risky business. If they were already used at Disney and they are selling days left, there is a chance that you will get rejected at Disney and not be allowed to use them. I would not risk it.
If you are going to Disney in the fall or during Christmas, they do have the 2 parties: Mickey’s Not-So-Scary Halloween Party and Mickey’s Very Merry Christmas Party. Tickets are $53.95 for adults and $47.95 for children. These tickets will let you into the Magic Kingdom in the evening for the party. Most rides are operating at this time, so that is an option.

My family went to Disney in Oct for one day. My husband has a business trip in Daytona so we decided to go the last day of our trip, and we tried everything to get a cheaper ticket, I talked to several disney cast members and they said they is really no way around it. But on the plus side it was really worth it, our son had a wonderful time. He’s 1 1/2 and it was plenty enough for him.
All you have to do is work there. ;-) The summer that I worked there, I got 2 free one-day tickets (that never expire!). I still have them-waiting for the perfect opportunity to use them. :-)
once you get there you will want to stay away!
If you are there for a convention, they have special tickets that let you in after 4pm. They were closer to the fifty dollar range as I recall.
what about getting tickets through a place like AAA? i’m not sure as i’ve never done that.
Wish they did the Give A Day Get A Day more! That’s what we did this year and up graded to the five days.
this year i volunteered to get a free ticket. last year they were free on your birthday. i wonder if they’ll do a promotion next year. we had non-expiring tickets, so i have one day left (hubby and daughter used theirs up).
The only thing I can think of was already mentioned, if you are going down for a convention there is the after 4pm pass. The holiday party is always a good idea too!
I would just buy a several day ticket and pay the extra for no expiration date (do they still do that?). And the bonus is you HAVE to go back! It really is an investment worth every penny. The prices go up every year but the happiness and fun are priceless!
We recently went for a long weekend & only needed one day tickets. I found over on Mousesavers a link to the Florida Children’s hospital. For $150, we got two 1 day tix, a $20 planet hollywood gift card & a coupon for 20% off a store at DTD. We were happy to make a donation to the Florida Children’s hospital & ended up saving a little money on the 1 day tickets! :-) Win, win!
In Florida, earlier this year (or maybe it was last year) there were cardboard stands in Publix that offered 4-day tickets (one park, one day) for $99. That’s $25 per day. Not bad at all!
Do you know if any of the publix still do that promotion? We are hoping to go for 4 days in March on a very tight budget. We live in MO and there are no Publix here…
The holiday partys are great…however…you do have to purchase a seperate admission to the park in ADDITION to the holiday ticket price. So its actually 136.00 per adult and 121.00 per child to go to the holiday partys. We did the halloween party this year and it was fun, but not really worth the extra money in my opinion
Actually you don’t HAVE to buy both tickets… I went to the Halloween Party just a few months ago and ONLY paid for the Halloween Party ticket. It was about $60 for us, since it was Halloween weekend, but well worth it. The party didn’t officially start until 7pm, but they let you in starting at 4pm! {They kicked everyone else out at 7pm, you had to have a wrist band to stay} So we had from 4pm-12am in the Magic Kingdom for only $60! If you want to be in the park ALL DAY then you’d have to buy both tickets. HTH.
We always use Kissimmee Guest Services, they are wonderful and will even deliver to you, this past January 2010 we went with our family of 10 and they were awesome and even gave us a free cooler filled with all sorts of goodies! Highly recommend them!
If you are military, you can go to the “swap” or “co-op” or something like that and buy tickets for cheap! My Aunt did that for us last time we went to Disney and she got us a 4-day ticket for $89 each! Now, she lives in Florida and is retired military, so that might be the combo you need, I’m not sure.
The only catch is that if you have someone else do it for you, they have to go to the ticket window with you to redeem the tickets. But that’s just on the first day. Once the ticket is “authorized” (if that’s the right term), it’s yours to use!
