One of your major factors to decide for your Disney World vacation is where to stay? Disney World offers 3 levels of Resorts on property – Value, Moderate and Deluxe. Today learn more about the good and the bad of Disney Value Resorts.
First read the list of Disney World Value Resorts and then find out the 10 Pros & Cons Of Disney World Value Resorts.
Value Resorts at Disney World:
- Disney’s All-Star Movies Resort
- Disney’s All-Star Music Resort
- Disney’s All-Star Sports Resort
- Disney’s Art of Animation Resort
- Disney’s Pop Century Resort
- The Campsites at Disney’s Fort Wilderness Resort
1. Pro – Fun Disney Theming
Disney knows details and the theming of the Value Resorts at Disney World are fun and bright (exception – Fort Wilderness which has its own unique rustic theming). Find larger than life icons, with plenty of fun photo opportunities. Such as, at All Star Movies walk through the door to Andy’s Room!
2. Con – On-Site Dining Options
Disney’s Value Resorts offer a food court to satisfy your breakfast, lunch, dinner and late night dining needs, plus a pool side bar. Everyone in your group is sure to find a food option with the variety offered. However, there are no sit down or character dining options at Value Resorts. If you prefer a quiet dinner on-site, it won’t happen at a Value Resort.
3. Pro – Value
As the name suggests Value Resorts tend to be the best value, meaning the least expensive option! If you plan on spending most of your time at the parks and poolside, than Disney World Value Resorts are the way to go for an economical Disney World vacation.
4. Con – Resort Room Size
Standard rooms at a Value Resort are roughly 260 sq. ft. Plenty of room to rest at night, and not much more room for anything else. If you plan on spending a lot of time in your Resort room, the size could be an issue. Moderate Resort rooms tend to be 30% bigger than a Value room.
5. Pro – Complimentary Transportation
All Disney Resorts offer complimentary and continuous transportation to the Disney parks and Disney Springs. All Value Resorts offer bus transportation. Additionally if staying at Disney’s Art of Animation or Pop Century, catch a ride with the Disney Skyliner. Furthermore, the Campsites at Disney’s Fort Wilderness Resort offers boat transportation to Magic Kingdom.
6. Con – No Pool Slide
One thing lacking at the Value Resort pools are a waterslide. Head to Moderate or Deluxe Resorts to ride a waterslide at their main pool locations. If pool time is important to your family, you may want to consider the perk of unlimited and complimentary waterslide rides! However, Did you know Art of Animation has the largest pool on Disney World property? Named the Big Blue Pool.
7. Pro – Many Amenities
By staying at a Disney Value Resort not only are you getting the lowest rates, you get many of the same amenities & perks as those paying for a more expensive vacation at a Moderate or Deluxe. This includes booking your Fastpass+ in advance at 60 days out (vs. 30 days out for non Disney Resort guests). Also you have access to Extra Magic Hours, a complimentary solid Magic Band and a Character wake up call! Plus enjoy Movies Under The Stars, visit the arcade on property, the playground and enjoy a jogging trail.
8. Con – Groups
The All Star Resorts (Movies, Music & Sports) have their own con. This is because sports and school groups tend to stay at these Resorts. This can mean and increase large groups of groups at the bus stop, food court and more. Which equals longer lines, if timing is unlucky.
9. Pro – Free Dining
Occasionally Disney World puts out discounts and offers to entice you to book now. One favorite offer for guests is the Free Dining promotion with a stay at select Disney World Resorts. Historically All Star Music and Pop Century are included as Resort options, read list of past Free Dining promotion dates. Do note, this is not guaranteed to return or occur each year.
10. Con – Bedding
Value Resort rooms fulfill all your basic needs, without the luxury. If your thread count is important, Moderate and up offer better quality bedding than Value Resorts typically. I must add, Value Bedding has always been adequate for myself.
