Thrill seekers there is a place for you at Disney World. This list contains attractions that will send guests through space, on a haunted elevator ride, escaping a Yeti and more. For those who prefer to skip the scary attractions, this list tells why each ride has been named scary.
Magic Kingdom
1. Splash Mountain
Guests 40″ and taller can ride Splash Mountain. However the 52.5-foot drop at about 40 mph may stop some from getting on.
2. Space Mountain
A slightly scarier mountain at Magic Kingdom is Space Mountain. This one is intimidating since the roller coaster takes place in the dark and guests cannot see the track up ahead, making the 27mph feel faster.
3. Big Thunder Mountain
Big Thunder Mountain tops at 36mph, while there are no large drops, this roller coaster ride does last over 3 minutes.
4. Haunted Mansion
Haunted Mansion is a ride through a haunted house, haunted with friendly ghosts, but ghosts none the less. Walk by a graveyard and other mildly scary scenes and pre-show.
Epcot
5. Test Track
Test Track gets named as a scary ride for the speed, this attraction reaches speeds up to 65mph. Guests must be 40″ to ride. However this ride does not have any drops.
Animal Kingdom
6. Primeval Whirl
Primeval Whirl makes the list for being scary, since this ride is anything but smooth. Expect to be abruptly moving while spinning.
7. Expedition Everest
Guests 44″ and taller can try their luck at escaping the Yeti on Expedition Everest. This roller coaster is one of the scariest at Disney World, dropping guests 80 feet at 50mph, backwards.
8. Avatar Flight of Passage
Avatar Flight of Passage contains similar technology to Soarin’ in Epcot, however more intense. This ride gives guests the sensation of drops and sharp turns.
Hollywood Studios
9. Twilight Zone Tower of Terror
Tower of Terror has a couple scary components, the supernatural imagery in the story told and the drop itself. Hear the screams from the ride as you approach the building.
10. Rock ‘n’ Roller Coaster Starring Aerosmith
Rock ‘n’ Roller Coaster Starring Aerosmith is found on Sunset Boulevard, this is the only attraction at Disney World that goes upside down during the ride. Guests take off on their ride from 0 to 60 in a matter of seconds, with Aerosmith music blasting in the background. The thrill seeker at Disney will have a rockin good time!
