As we embark on a New Year, our friends at Disney World are keeping the magic alive until you can visit next! Today we have 21 reasons to visit Disney World in 2021!
1. See the newly painted Cinderella Castle at Magic Kingdom. During 2020, Cinderella’s Castle received a royal makeover, with fresh coats of paint. Guests can now see the enhanced look with bright blue rooftops and gold trim on Cinderella’s Castle!

2. Start the year with the 2021 Taste of EPCOT International Festival of the Arts. This Festival runs from January 8th through February 22nd. Discover more than 15 Food Studios, watch artists work, participate in a paint-by-number mural, step into artwork for a fun photo op and more!

3. Grab photos in from of the Reimagined Fountain, found at the entrance of EPCOT. In front of Spaceship Earth, guests will now see the completed reimagined water-feature fountain. The fountain can change colors and new lighting will be added to Spaceship Earth and more to coordinate. At the center of the fountain, guests will notice 3 pylons, standing at over 16 feet tall, featuring EPCOTs logo.
4. Enjoy more places to stay on-site with Disney Resort reopening. As Disney World continues its phased reopening, we look forward to additional Disney Resort reopening. We know that Disney’s All-Star Movies Resort will reopen on March 22, 2021 for guests. Disney’s Beach Club Resort will reopen on May 30, 2021. Followed by Disney’s Wilderness Lodge reopening June 6, 2021. Finally we know that Disney’s Polynesian Village Resort will reopen Summer 2021 once refurbishments are complete.
5. Park Hopping has returned for 2021! This comes with some modifications however. Guests who have purchased an Annual Pass or ticket with Park Hopper, will be able to visit more than 1 park per day. The updated Park Hopper will require guests to have a Disney Park Pass reservation for their 1st park of the day and fulfill this reservation by entering the park, prior to visiting another park. A park reservation will not be needed after your first park, this is subject to change. Guests may Park Hop starting at 2pm daily and until park closing time.
6. Blizzard Beach reopens March 7, 2021 for Disney World guests. Get ready for a day in the sun, relax in the lazy river, take a chairlift ride with amazing views and more. This waterpark has areas just for the kiddos, family rides and a thrill ride not to miss. Be sure to stop by Mini Donuts for a sweet treat!
7. Take advantage of the Magical Extra Offers For 2021 Disney World Resort Guests. This includes discount on select shopping, food and more. Guests also receive 4 vouchers per package from their choice between Disney World’s two miniature golf locations! Read all the Magical Extras for 2021.
8. Take a ride on Mickey and Minnie’s Runaway Railway found at Hollywood Studios. This attraction at Disney World on March 4, 2020. Throughout the attraction you will encounter classic cartoon Disney characters including: Mickey Mouse, Minnie Mouse, Donald Duck, Goofy and Pluto! While this may surprise some, Mickey and Minnie’s Runaway Railway is the first attraction (at any Disney park) to star Mickey Mouse and his friends! Another fascinating fact about this attraction is that it has the most Hidden Mickeys in any Disney attraction, worldwide.

9. Visit the 2021 Taste of EPCOT International Flower & Garden Festival! The Spring fun begins on March 3, 2021 running through July 5, 2021. A returning highlight of this Festival are the Character topiaries. Look for Mickey, Donald and friends, to Remy, Anna & Elsa, Lady & the Tramp, Figment and more! Plus, floating gardens throughout the park. Guests will want to save their appetites’ with 20 Outdoor Kitchens in the World Showcase. Also, participate in a scavenger hunt with Spike’s Pollen Nation Exploration!
10. As part of EPCOTs multi-year transformation is an all-new permanent Epcot nighttime spectacular coming in 2021, named Harmonious. The new show celebrates how Disney music inspires, featuring large floating pieces, choreographed moving fountains and custom-built LED panels. Along with music, lights, lasers and fireworks. This will be the parks largest nighttime show ever and one of Disney World’s all-time biggest shows.

11. The animals will capture your heart. In addition to attractions, Disney World has many animals that call this magical place home. A visit to Animal Kingdom is a must to see all the different species. This includes new additions! During 2020, Animal Kingdom welcomed new Nigerian dwarf goats (now on the Harambe Wildlife Reserve) and see a young Masai giraffe now at Kilimanjaro Sararis and more.

12. Wave hi to your favorite Disney Characters. While traditional meet & greets are currently not happening, guests can look forward to seeing Disney characters! Throughout Disney parks, find Characters in cavalcades, caravans, flotillas and pop-up appearances. Plus, look for occasional Disney Resort special surprise visits.

13. Try the new menu items from ABC Commissary at Hollywood Studios. There is a total of six new entrees and 3 new kid menu items. Consider trying the Buffalo Chicken Grilled Cheese Sandwich, Pork Carnitas Tacos, Shrimp Tacos, Plant-based Curry Rice Bowl with Tofu and more.

14. Dine in the “donut garden”, coming to Disney Springs with the 2021 opening of Everglazed Donuts & Cold Brew. Peak in through the windows to see the fresh donuts baked daily on-site as the kitchen is exposed for guests to see in. Sit in the fun donut garden, located outside. Here, “Happiness is Glazed Daily”! Stop by for a sweet treat, such as an over-the-top donut, and a cold brew or nitro-infused coffee. Also serving donut cakes and sandwich bites.

15. Originally supposed to open during Summer of 2020, guests can look forward to Remy’s Ratatouille Adventure opening sometime in 2021. Exact date still to be announced. Coming to the France Pavilion in the World Showcase, guests can board their own Remy ride vehicle and race across Gusteau’s Kitchen floor on a trackless adventure. Guests will shrink down to the size of a rat on this attraction, based on Disney-Pixar Ratatouille.

16. Star Wars: Galactic Starcruiser Hotel has been confirmed for a 2021 opening. Star Wars fans are anticipating an all new experience at Hollywood Studios with Star Wars: Galactic Starcruiser, an immersive vacation opportunity. This 2-night, cruise-style itinerary stay will have guests in the midst of Star Wars storytelling. Above, see new concept art for the arrival of your adventure, with the Galactic Starcruiser Terminal. From there, guests will head to their exclusive launch pod, with views of space through the viewports. Included in the itinerary is a visit to Batuu, also known as Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge. 17. Your favorite chocolate candies are getting a location at Disney World. M&M’s Orlando Store will be added to Disney Springs in 2021. Look forward to a fun, colorful and sweet addition for guests to shop! Shop your favorite chocolate candies and merchandise. The shop will be an immersive experience, set to open near the NBA Experience at Disney Springs west side.

20. Look for the all-new Cirque du Soleil show “Drawn to Life,” coming to Disney Springs in 2021. This new show is a collaboration brought to you by Walt Disney Animation Studios, Walt Disney Imagineering and Cirque du Soleil. The show centers around a courageous and determined girl, named Julie, who finds an unfished animation piece from her late father. In her journey, she is guided by a surprising pencil and her Disney childhood memories to imagine new possibilities for her future, using animation.
