Water is calming and beautiful, and Disney World uses water in the parks and on attractions. Some are relaxing boat rides, some are thrilling and guests may just get wet. Learn my favorite 7 boat ride at Disney World and their thrill factors.
1. Frozen Ever After
This attraction is a boat ride journey through Arendelle, based on Disney’s Frozen in the Norway pavilion of Epcot. Frozen Ever After features an on-ride photo. Guests of any height and all ages may enjoy Frozen Ever After. The attraction is based on Disney’s widely popular movie Frozen however, it also features parts of the “Frozen Fever” short too! Look for the adorable snowgies in the attraction. If you love this attraction, consider a Frozen Ever After Dessert Party.
Thrill Factor: There is a drop on this attraction, approximately 28 feet, however it is sloped and not straight down. Guests do descend backwards. Guests will not get wet.
2. Gran Fiesta Tour Starring The Three Caballeros
Take a relaxing boat ride down the Rio Grande with Donald Duck and friends on The Gran Fiesta Tour Starring The Three Caballeros in the Mexico Pavilion of Epcot. Guests of any height may enjoy. Fun Tip: In the final scene of the boat ride, look for the small boat saying “VIVA DONALD”, to the lower right are 3 drums forming a hidden Mickey.
Thrill Factor: None, slow moving boat ride and you will not get wet.
3. Kali River Rapids
Board the Kali River Rapids 12-passenger raft in Animal Kingdom’s Asia. Guests must be at least 38″ tall to ride. Travel through a jungle setting, climbing a 90-foot hill before descending down the mountain by waterfalls and more. Watch out for the Squirting elephants.
Thrill Factor: Spinning, small drops, plus one 20 foot drop and guests will get soaked.
4. Living with the Land
A relaxing boat ride can be found in Future World at Epcot. Living with the Land is an educational ride with behind the scenes look at the greenhouses in the Land Pavilion. They even use the food they grow in select Epcot Restaurants. Guests of all ages can enjoy this ride.
Thrill Factor: None, slow moving boat ride and you will not get wet.
5. Na’vi River Journey
Take a peaceful boat ride through Valley of Mo’ara and all its incredible caves, plants and creatures on Na’Vi River Journey. This attraction is found in Pandora – World of Avatar at Animal Kingdom. Guests of any height may ride.
Thrill Factor: None, slow moving boat ride and you will not get wet.
6. Pirates of the Caribbean
Find Pirates of the Caribbean in Magic Kingdom. The Pirates of the Caribbean is a 9 minute boat ride taking guests through the 17th century when Pirates ruled the seas. Listen to the popular anthem, Yo Ho, Yo Ho (A Pirate’s Life for Me). This ride features an on-ride photo. Pirates of the Caribbean attraction actually inspired the popular films that followed, starring Johnny Depp.
Thrill Factor: This ride does feature a small drop in the dark and some of the pirate scenes can be loud, you may get splashed.
7. Splash Mountain
Splash Mountain is another boat ride attraction found in Magic Kingdom. It features Br’er Rabbit, Br’er Bear and Br’er Fox and more critters that sing and talk. Sing along to “Zip-a-Dee-Doo-Dah” and more from Disney’s Songs of the South. Enjoy a pleasant boat ride before you discover the briar patch.
Thrill Factor: Features 3 dips and one is a 5-story drop and guests will range in how wet they get, however you should be prepared to get soaked if you sit in the front.
Thanks, Sara

Love the boat rides, except Kali. Just don’t like getting soaked and can’t stand squishy shoes. LOL!
