Are you planning a future trip to Disney World? If you are debating staying at a Disney Value Resort you may be wondering pros and cons of Disney’s Pop Century Versus Disney’s All Star Resorts. Today we are comparing these Resorts with helpful information to consider when choosing.
First, when we say Disney’s All Star Resorts we are referring to All Star Sports, All Star Movies and All Star Music. These 3, as well as Disney’s Pop Century Resort all fall within the category of Value Resorts. This category offers some of the least expensive options to stay on property. All offer the advantages of being on site!
Disney’s Pop Century Resort has a Transportation advantage over the All Star Resorts. In addition to Disney busses, Pop Century offers guests transportation via Disney Skyliner. Get a birds eye view while you are whisked away to EPCOT, Hollywood Studios and select other Disney Resorts in a character themed gondola. Many guests say Disney Skyliner is quicker and less crowded than the busses. All 3 of Disney’s All Star Resorts only offer bus transportation at this time.
If you love EPCOT and Hollywood Studios, having the Disney Skyliner as an option is a big plus. Especially if you are going during one of EPCOT’s festivals and plan to visit many times throughout your stay!
Disney’s Pop Century has dedicated busses and the All Stars do not. This is another transportation downfall of the All Stars. However do note I have been on trips at All Star Resorts and hardly shared a bus, while others we did often. However, this is something to keep in mind.
Disney’s All Star Movies offers Family Suite Options, which sleep up to 6. Want more space without the deluxe price tag? Consider a Family Suite at Disney’s All Star Music, which include a kitchenette, 2 bathrooms, a sperate bedroom with a queen bed and living room with a double size sleep sofa, a sleeper chair and a sleeper ottoman.
All Star Resorts remain at the lowest price option for a Disney Resort. This is a plus for the All Star Resorts, as at any given time, they are usually cheaper per night than Disney’s Pop Century. If you are solely going for the best value, The All Stars are a great option.
Each has its own food court, appealing to everyone in your group. The food courts throughout the All Stars, and even Pop Century, are pretty similar. However, I have heard food at Pop Century is slightly better, let me know if you agree! Since these are Value Resorts, the food court and pool-side bar are the only dining locations on-site. Each food court serves breakfast, lunch, dinner with desserts, sides and beverages.
Theming is unique to each Resort. This is one of the things I love about Disney World Resorts, each one has its own theming. The All Stars are self-explanatory theming of Sports, Music and Movies. While Pop Century is themed with iconic symbols throughout the 1950’s-1990’s decades. If you want nostalgia, stay at Pop Century. However, any of these 4 Resorts have larger than life décor and photo ops throughout.
