If you are headed to Hollywood Studios during your trip, here are the 5 Must Do’s in Hollywood Studios:
1. Toy Story Midway Mania – This attraction is one of the most popular in all of Walt Disney World. You’ll have the opportunity to compete against your ride partner to see who can score the most points in the various Toy Story themed games. You must get a Fastpass+ for this one or head straight there at Rope Drop. The line quickly reaches 45+ minutes and stays there all day.
2. Disney Junior Characters – If your little one loves the Disney Junior shows, Hollywood Studios is the only location where you can meet some of the stars of the shows. Sofia the First, Doc McStuffins and more can be found for Meet and Greets in Animation Courtyard and at Disney Junior Play ‘N Dine at Hollywood and Vine for breakfast and lunch.
3. The Architecture – Each of the buildings along Hollywood Boulevard and Sunset Boulevard are inspired by actual buildings found in Los Angeles in the 1930’s. My favorite building is the The Darkroom which has a large camera on one side that is a replica of camera from the 1930’s. This building is inspired by the Beverly-Poinsettia Commercial Building that was also built in the 1930’s. On top of the building is a billboard for Hollywoodland, a subdivision that was advertised with the famous “Hollywood” sign (it originally said Hollywoodland).
4. Star Wars – This park is known for appearances by Darth Vader and the Stormtroppers. With the addition of the new Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge, this park is going to be catapulted to new levels of popularity. Until it opens (Fall 2019), there are still a number of Star Wars attractions including the Star Tours: The Adventure Continues attraction, Launch Bay (where you can meet some of the characters from the movies) and the nighttime fireworks display that shoots off to a Star Wars soundtrack.
5. Dining – There are 4 delicious restaurants at Hollywood Studios that my we love. Sci-Fi Drive-In Theater, 50’s Prime Time Cafe, Mama Melrose and Hollywood and Vine (to meet the characters). We enjoy the Table-Service restaurants at this park a lot more than we enjoy the Counter-Service options. We always book a reservation for our Hollywood Studios day!
