Here are 8 of my best tips if you are working on a One Day Plan At Epcot! Epcot is an acronym standing for, Experimental Prototype Community Of Tomorrow. It was one of Walt Disney’s dream to build a community of the future. Future World and the World Showcase are the 2 sections that make up Epcot, one of the 4 main parks at Disney World. While this park can easily be split into 2 days or more, it is possible to see the highlights of Epcot in one day. Read 8 tips below for a One Day Plan at Epcot.
Park Tickets
Purchase park tickets ahead of time and avoid wasting precious time standing in line to buy tickets. Especially in the morning, ticket booth lines can get long. You will want to arrive early to start your day (30 minute before park opening) and already having your Park ticket puts you one step ahead.
The Ball
Take pictures of Epcot’s park icon, the ball, which contains the attraction Spaceship Earth upon entering Epcot. However, do not stop to get in line for this attraction now. Since it is the first attraction, many stop and get caught up in line here, instead walk on by. Save this attraction for later in the day, on your way out.
Future World
Read the Guide To Epcot’s Future World At Disney World and pick your top 2-3 choices to get done. Keep in mind, Future World contains Pavilions such as The Land Pavilion and Innoventions with many activities, you could spend a whole day exploring. Set a time limit for each of these pavilions. Be sure to visit Club Cool for Free Soft Drinks. Plus consider a Fastpass+ for the top picks in Future World.
Future World Top Fastpass+ Picks (or attractions to head to first):
Lunch
To save time, dine at a quick service location for lunch, opposed to a sit-down restaurant which can take up to 2 hours for your meal. For tasty quick service options in Future World consider:
- Electric Umbrella for salads, burgers and more near Innovations.
- Sunshine Seasons offers a variety of food options with a food court style located in The Land pavilion. Which is the same Pavilion as Soarin’.
Mid-Day Break
Instead of heading back to the resort for a mid-day break, head to the American Adventure Pavilion at the World Showcase. The American Adventure is a 30-minute show on historic events in America, told by Audio-Animatronics. This is the perfect spot in Epcot to cool down in the air conditioned attraction and sit-down for 30 minutes.
World Showcase
Epcot’s World Showcase is represented by 11 countries, each having their own pavilion with restaurants, shops and entertainment. Traveling with children? Consider these 50 Tips & Activities For Kids At Epcot’s World Showcase. Traveling with an adult only group? Consider Drinking around the World Showcase.
Top Fastpass+ For World Showcase:
- Frozen Ever After (Since Soarin’, Test Track and Frozen Ever After are on the same tier, guests will have to choose 1 of these 3 to fastpass for the morning). Frozen Ever After is located in the Norway pavilion of the World Showcase. Also available is a meet & greet with Anna & Elsa.

Dinner
The World Showcase at Epcot has an abundant of choices for dinner. Choose from many quick service options to dine, or consider Snacking Around the World Showcase. Experience flavors from around the world as you choose a food item from each pavilion, this is a fun way to have a customized dinner! Plus, there will be no quarrels from a group on where to eat, everyone can choose what they please as you explore.
Nighttime Show
End your day at Epcot with IllumiNations: Reflections of Earth, the nighttime show at Epcot. This 12-minute fireworks show takes place around the World Showcase Lagoon, celebrating the earth & spirit of humanity.
