Planning your trip to Walt Disney World? Here are the ten must do’s in the Magic Kingdom.
10. The Welcome Show – The welcome show takes place on the castle stage at approximately 8:55 AM. Sir Sterling, one of the Royal Majesty Makers, announces the upcoming opening of the Magic Kingdom and welcomes characters to the stage. Mickey, Aladdin, Jasmine, Anastasia, Drizella, Merida, Belle, Elena, Snow White, Mary Poppins, Alice, Pluto, Chip, Dale and Minnie Mouse all come out to help open the park. The Fairy Godmother appears in the window of the castle to help dust the park with magic.
9. Peter Pan’s Flight – This classic attraction will leave you feeling like you just flew over London and Neverland with Peter Pan. The new interactive queue is a lot of fun, but the best time to ride this is either as soon as the park opens in the morning or with a Fastpass+. I’ve also seen lines very short within the last 20-30 minutes the park is open.
8. Cinderella’s Castle – Take a few minutes to walk in and around the castle and really take in the beauty and magic of it. Cinderella’s wishing well can be found on the Tomorrowland side of the castle where you can make a wish. The mural inside the castle is exquisite. You can even have a meal inside the castle at Cinderella’s Royal Table or have your daughter’s hair and makeup done at the Bibbidi Bobbidi Boutique.
7. Seven Dwarfs Mine Train – This new attraction is a fun experience through Snow White’s story. You’ll zip around the track in a swinging mine car and even go through the mine where the Dwarfs are digging for jewels. It is a very smooth attraction, so even those that aren’t crazy about rollercoasters will like this one.
6. Dole Whip – Stop by Aloha Isle in Adventureland to get this tasty pineapple treat. It is a classic and the most popular snack at Walt Disney World. You don’t want to miss it!
5. Mickey Mouse – Magic Kingdom is spewing with multiple characters to meet, but this is the only park where you Mickey speaks with you! It will thrill the kids and adults alike. Usually Mickey has to save his voice for the parade and shows, but this is the rare occasion where he can actually take the time to talk with guests.
4. Tomorrowland Transit Authority PeopleMover – This underrated attraction rarely has a line so it makes it great to ride when the rest of the park is crowded. You’ll board a futuristic type train car that will zip you above Tomorrowland and even right through the Space Mountain attraction. If some of your party are riding Space Mountain, take everyone else on the People Mover. I always tell my kids to wave at their dad on Space Mountain.
3. Cosmic Rays – This delicious restaurant is located in Tomorrowland and offers something for every taste bud. You’ll find hamburgers, chicken sandwiches, salads and even ribs! Stop by the topping bar to add tomatoes, lettuce, mushrooms, onions and cheese sauce to your food. If you sit in the lower seating section, you can watch a fun show featuring Sonny Eclipse.
2. Parades and Fireworks – The entertainment at Magic Kingdom continues up until closing with 3 different parades and a breathtaking fireworks display. The Festival of Fantasy parade occurs everyday at 2 or 3 o’clock (check the Times Guide on the day of your visit) and in the evening, Happily Ever After, the nighttime firework celebration. And throughout the day, the Move It! Shake It! Celebrate It! Street Party occurs on Main Street.
1. Mickey Ears – One souvenir everyone needs to buy is a pair of Mickey ears and my favorite store for doing that is La Chapeu located on Main Street near the entrance. Here you can pick from over 40 different styles of Mickey ears and even have them personalized with your name.

Fantastic list! The only one I haven’t done is the Mine Ride… my little one is finally tall enough to ride so it’s a must-do on our upcoming trip!
