Disney World is home to amazingly themed Resorts, it can be hard to choose. Here are 9 Outstanding Walt Disney World Resorts & what makes them special.
Beach Club Or Yacht Club For Stormalong Bay & Walk To Epcot
Arguably the best pool on Disney World property is Stormalong Bay. Stormalong Bay is the 3-acre water playland shared by Disney’s Beach Club and Yacht Club Resorts. It features a lazy pool, whirlpool spas, a tanning deck, waterslides, kiddie pools and more. These are both Deluxe Disney Resorts. Both are along Disney’s Boardwalk, with added restaurants & entertainment and are within walking distance to Epcot!
Animal Kingdom Lodge For Animals
Although the furthest away from Magic Kingdom park and more, Animal Kingdom Lodge is worth it for the animal viewings. Disney’s Animal Kingdom Lodge contains a total of 4 savannas with over 200 animals and birds from over 30 species that call it home. See African wildlife such as zebras, flamingos, giraffes and more. There are public viewing areas outside as well as many viewing windows in the Resort. It is a fun Resort to explore, with the largest collections of African art in the USA. Here are more great reasons to explore Animal Kingdom Lodge.
The Cabins at Disney’s Fort Wilderness Resort For Space & Amenities
The Cabins at Disney’s Fort Wilderness Resort allow guests personal space, not connected to other guests, plus a designated parking space. It is a nice escape from the usual business of Disney. Fort Wilderness Resort also has the longest list of amenities including: Fort Wilderness Archery Experience, Horse Drawn Carriage Rides, Pony Ride, Chip ‘N’ Dale’s Campfire Sing-A-Long, Fishing and more!
Contemporary Resort Or Grand Floridian Resort & Spa Or Polynesian Village Resort For The Monorail
The 3 Deluxe Resorts on the Monorail loop are: Disney’s Contemporary, Grand Floridian and Polynesian Village Resort. Each of the these 3 Resorts offer the convenience of hopping on the monorail to the Magic Kingdom. Particularly the Contemporary, since the Monorail goes through the Resort, guests have the shortest walk to board. They also each offer Cinderella Castle views including fireworks views on a clear night. Plus, view the Electric Light Pageant.
Port Orleans – French Quarter For Its Size & Boat Rides To Disney Springs
For Disney standards, Port Orleans – French Quarter is a small Disney Resort. This means the Resort grounds are less spread out, making for less walking to food court, bus stop and more for guests. In addition, it has a fun Mardi Gras theming and beautiful grounds, and boat rides to Disney Springs. Furthermore, it is Sister Resorts with Port Orleans – Riverside and guests can share all the amenities including the pool! They are each Moderate Resorts.
Polynesian Resort For Tropical Paradise & Dining
Polynesian Village Resort is not only great for the Monorail, it has a great atmosphere with a tropical paradise feel. Find beautiful flowers on the grounds and more. It also has some great dining options, consider Ohana’ for the Best Friends Breakfast featuring Lilo & Stitch or Dinner with Hawaiian Hospitality. Plus, grab a Dole Whip on site from Pineapple Lanai.
Pop Century For Value & No Shared Busses Or Groups
For value at Disney World consider a Value Resort. Out of the Value Resorts Pop Century is known for not sharing busses with other resorts, unlike the All Star Resorts. Plus school and sports groups do not stay here, avoiding potential long lines at food court and bus stops. Share most of the amenities of nearby Art of Animation such as their food court and more (except swimming). Check out the recently update rooms!
Note, Many of the Resorts mentioned are Deluxe Resorts, while they are amazing, they are pricey. No matter your budget, all Disney World resorts have their own quirks and magic!
