My favorites:
- My favorite character meals are ‘Ohanas, Garden Grill and Tusker House.
Tips for meeting characters at a character meal:
- The characters do not all come out at once. They come out in sets. Ask your waitress when the next character should appear
- Always have your book open and ready on the table
- Send one parent to the buffet while the other remains at the table to watch for characters
- It is okay to stand up and pose with the character at your table

We have been to the Princess Storybook Dining in Epcot twice…both times with the meal plan…it was wonderful. There is a photo op with one of the princesses-both times it was Belle for us- were they pose your party and bring you the photos to keep as part of your meal (not sure if there is a fee for those not on the meal plan). It is by far our favorite.
We also did Garden Grove (not a Disney hotel-not on the meal plan) and we were able to use a Restaurants.com voucher but it was still very pricey.
O’hana’s is on my list to try this year but dh is not a fan of spending that much for breakfast.

We are fortunate to be able to go to Disney once a year. We always try 2-3 new character dining places when we go but always go back to our favorites too..we love cape may cafe and , this year we are trying Cinderella’s castle and garden grill.
MOM says
hi kristyn, it is true that to eat with the princesses at the castle you have to book a year ahead because is too busy that it take one year to have a reservation?
Autumn says
“Mom” it depends! I hear the new castle is booked up for a year, but I don’t know that Cinderella’s Royal Table is. Reservations only open up 180 days in advance so they can’t be booked that far in advance. Also, even if the time you want is booked, keep checking back…people cancel and spots open up!
Kristin from Couponing to Disney says
Reservations open up 6 months in advance, so as soon as you know your dates, I suggest you book your reservation at the castle. With Be Our Guest open now, it took some of the pressure off the castle and it is easier to get reservations at the castle now.
