If you are planning a vacation with your child, you probably want to make sure you see and experience all of the things they would enjoy. Here are what I consider to be the best 25 experiences at Walt Disney World for 7-9 year olds:
Magic Kingdom
1. Mad Tea Party – Spin around in a giant tea cup and see if you can make your other family members woozy.
2. Peter Pan’s Flight – This classic attraction flies you over London and on to Neverland in a pixie dusted pirate ship. Especially great for pirate and fairy lovers.
3. Seven Dwarfs Mine Train – If you have a thrill seeker, they will love this enchanting ride through the jewel mines where the dwarfs work.
4. Dumbo the Flying Elephant – This attraction is synonymous with a Walt Disney World vacation. No matter the age, this is one that everyone should experience.
5. The Barnstormer – Although this ride lasts about 30 seconds, it is exhilarating and exciting.
6. Big Thunder Mountain – It is the wildest wide in the wilderness! Ride it at night for a completely different experience.
7. Splash Mountain – You might just get wet on this one! Kids will love the thrill of seeing their parents soaked.
8. Haunted Mansion – It is right about this age where the Haunted Mansion no longer seems as scary to little kids. It is when mine started loving it!
9. Buzz Lightyear Space Ranger Spin – See how many points you can score on this galactic experience.
And really a lot more in the Magic Kingdom but those are my top 9 picks!
Hollywood Studios
10. Toy Story Mania – Another shooting game, but this one is more interactive and fun!
11. Star Tours – Even if you have never seen the movie, this attraction is worth experiencing. My kids always compete to see if they will be chosen to be the rebel spy.
12. Jedi Training Academy: Trials of the Temple – Your little one can train to be a Jedi Knight and fight against Darth Vader and other Star Wars favorites. Arrive by 8 am to sign up!
13. For the First Time in Forever: A “Frozen” Sing-Along Celebration – This show is incredible even if Frozen has gotten on your last nerve. We love it!
Animal Kingdom
14. Wilderness Explorers – Your children can learn about animals, bugs and other members of the Animal Kingdom in this interactive challenge located throughout the park.
15. Kilimanjaro Safaris – Every ride is different and you never know what you might see. Ride just after a rainstorm to see the animals frolicking around.
16. Kali River Rapids – Another fun water ride, this one will definitely soak you through! Store your possessions in a free locker while you ride.
17. Primeval Whirl – Spin round and round on this crazy rollercoaster. Make sure you brace yourself to make the ride smoother.
18. Expedition Everest – If your child is adventurous, they will love this roller coaster that goes backwards.
Epcot
19. Test Track – Design your own car and then compete against other people to see how it performs.
20. Soarin‘ – This ride is incredible and definitely worth the wait! Your child will enjoy soaring over The Great Wall of China or the Artic.
21. Kidcot – Make the trip to the World Showcase even more fun by interacting at each of the 11 Kidcot stations.
22. Frozen Ever After – Plan on getting a Fastpass+ to this attraction if possible. It is currently the most popular and the wait has exceeded 300 minutes during busy season!
Experiences
23. Bibbidi Bobbidi Boutique – Your daughter can get styled like her favorite princess at this makeover experience.
24. A Pirates League – Both girls and boys can be made into a pirate or a mermaid.
25. Character meals – A great way to see the characters is by meeting them while you eat. Here are my top 5 favorites:
